Disciple Women met at Connie Cundiff's house for lunch, a devotional discussion and planning for the future. Discussions ranged from a favorite bible verse to how Dolly Parton represented Christian principles. It was agreed that service to those in need should be a primary focus of this group. Quilts of love to be given to children in crisis will be the first project for the group. Several in the group donated money to give to a released inmate for travel expenses to her home in Florida. Future meetings will be held on the fourth Sunday of each month following morning worship. The September meeting will be September 20th because worship on the 27th will be at the Rousey cabin.

This Sunday we welcome Rev John Powell, M. Div., to deliver our morning message. Rev. Powell of Danville KY is retired but has 30 years of bi-vocational experience in ministry and commercial banking.
He will use text from Matthew 16:21-28. We look forward to hearing about "Love in Action".
