This book single handedly motivated the return of "Review and Chew". The tagline for this facebook group is a quote by Francis Bacon, "Some books are tasted, others are swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested". Philip Yancey's timely book, "Vanishing Grace" fits that idea perfectly, and is even more relevant today than when it was first published a few years ago. It will make you think and it will give us PLENTY to discuss! Fear not, while causing you to think, it is very "readable".

After a long hiatus due to a focus on other ministries with roots springing forth from this one, "Review and Chew" will be active once again! Stay tuned for an important announcement concerning a very timely and needed book for Christians AND skeptics to sink our teeth into and discuss!

Sooooo...it has been forever since posting or creating any events. If you are wondering why, it is because our little bi-monthly book club kinda morphed into our Adult Sunday School class at MSBF Ministries. They really are totally different entities in style and purpose, but it became too difficult for me to prepare and lead both, along with the other hats I wear at church, home, and work.

Still, "Review and Chew" holds a special place in my heart and I do hope to share some great conversation about a book over dessert with my friends in the future again =) In the meantime, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND a wonderful book by a gifted author entitled, "Hidden in Plain Sight...the secret of more", by Mark Buchanan. Mark is quite a wordsmith, with a knack for opening your eyes and heart to scripture in profound ways. This book focuses on the virtues which we are instructed to add to our faith in 2 Peter. This is a book I could easily start reading again immediately after finishing!

Such a sad commercial. It seems like a "positive" message, but what if you take away basketball? A good example of why we need to learn how to share "The Reason for God".

The Reason for God event is almost here! Just finished the last chapter while enjoying a gorgeous day in God's creation. Such a powerful book...so much to think about and share.

We're so excited by how much the "not a fan" book and movie seem to impact and challenge people. We had a great turn-out but if you were not able to make it to the movie viewing and discussion, feel free to borrow the DVD and watch it at your home! This event really seemed to pierce the heart and cause us to ask ourselves a lot of important questions. Our next event will give your mind a workout and hopefully answer many important questions that Christians and skeptics have a hard time with!

In anticipation of the upcoming "Harbinger" Review and Chew event, I thought it would be fun to ask a fun question regarding the book. What was your favorite "whoooooa" moment or chapter? Mine was definitely the "Mystery Ground" chapter. It was such a climactic moment where history collided in such a powerful way!
