Annual Board Meeting of the Williams-Buck Cemetery Association was called to order on 9/20/2025 at 12:42pm by President, Cathy Cantrell.
Introduction and Roll Call of Directors and Officials (Cathy)
Prayer –
Introduction – Cathy Cantrell – Stick with the agenda items at hand. Hold all questions or suggestions until the end – anything that an attendee would like the board to take action on will need to be emailed to a board member or call to have the issue put on agenda for next year.
Recognition –
Payton Hill and Absolute Demolition – Mowing
Many THANKS to Payton Hill with Absolute Demolition – He and his crew have mowed the cemetery twice this year and will be doing it a third time in the near future. Payton has asked that all donations for his service be donated back to Williams-Buck Cemetery Association. If you are able to make a donation for his services, please do so today or you can mail in donations to address below.
Collins Family - Electric Gate
The Collins Family has installed an electric gate with camera surveillance. The cemetery was vandalized last year and this will help in keeping the Collins and cemetery properties secure.
If the gate is left open the cows will get out and the property not secure.
Gate is only open during certain times. There is a code on the gate that only allows entry until 7:00 pm.
If needing in to the cemetery and do not have code access, contact Jamie Hamilton-Riddle or Hillerie Staton
Becky Faurie – PO Box
THANK YOU to Becky for her donation to pay for the Cemetery Association Post Office Box fees. The donation/payment made this year was $156.00.

Roll Call – Note: Page 7 of By Laws states: In order to have a quorum for this meeting at least 5 of the 8 Board Members must be present before the board can transact business. All 7 were present. Officers present were: Director – Charles Staton; Director – Mike Cantrell; Director – Connie Simons; President – Cathy Cantrell; Vice President – Hillerie Staton; Historian – Jamie Hamilton-Riddle; Treasurer – Becky Faurie, Secretary – Sandra Staton. We have a quorum.
Reminder relating to sign in sheet – Note: Page 5 of By Laws states: The owner of each burial plot, regardless of the size thereof, in the Williams-Buck Cemetery Association, and adult persons of the age of eighteen (18) years of age or more, who are interested in the Williams- Buck Cemetery Association shall be members of this Association by:
Resident of Liberty Hill or Decedent: Paying an annual membership fee set by the Board which is $5.00. Please sign in and pay your membership fee at this time and pick up the By Laws and Procedures sheet. All in attendance signed in and paid dues.
Discussion / Update / Action regarding the status of the IRS / Texas Comptroller (Cathy opened discussion) -
Statement of Fact: Filing with the IRS / Texas Comptroller must be done EVERY year. It is opened up that at any time if the newly elected secretary is NOT comfortable and/or incapable of completing the 990N that an officer other than the secretary be allowed to complete the IRS requirement. This may ensure that the filing is done every year by a qualified board member.
Status – the Williams-Buck Cemetery Association is in good status at this time.
No Action – No action is taken at this time. Cathy will complete the 990N for IRS next year as well.
Discussion / Update / Action regarding Bank Account –
Follow-Up: It was approved by the Board on 9/21/2025 to remove Ann Williams off of the statement card and add Hillerie Staton to the signature card. Bank Account is held at Chase Bank in Georgetown, TX.
Motion – was made to have Hillerie Staton added and Ann Williams removed from the signature card in the near future. Motion was made by Cathy Cantrell and seconded by Becky Faurie. Motion was passed.
Status – Hillerie Staton will follow-up and complete as soon as she is able.
Discussion / Update / Action regarding membership and fees.
Credit Card Payments – Becky Faurie stated that at this time we do not have a Credit Card machine/device and therefore this service is down.
Venmo – this process is not available at this time.
Action – Motion was made by Cathy Cantrell to table the matter of payment by Credit Card or Venmo until next annual meeting. Sandra Staton seconded the motion. Motion was carried/passed.
Discussion / Update /Action regarding updating By Laws to delete any and all language referring to collection of any Plot Fee(s) – Jamie Hamilton-Riddle opened discussion
Attorney comments:
By Laws – If the Association has By Laws to allow decedents, community, Liberty Hill residents – the Board has the option to revise and take out wording. Officer / Board may choose how to word the By Laws.
Eliminate – Eliminate Liberty Hill residents and descendants
Plot Fees – Consider if the Association charges fees for plots: The Association will create revenue but the funds may also create problems with the IRS and the perpetual standing.
Suggestion: Jamie Hamilton-Riddle suggested to limit to descendants.

Charge a Plot Fee – and determine what the fee amount will be
Motion was made by Jamie Hamilton-Riddle and seconded by Hillerie Staton – to have Cathy Cantrell make 3 options (not necessarily the ones above) and the Board will vote on the option at next Williams-Buck Cemetery Association Annual meeting (2026).
Discussion and Action for Nominations for Director and Officers -
Director Duties – Only one will be voted on today. Term will end September 2028.
Cathy Cantrell made motion to nominate Payton Hill. Hillerie Staton seconded the motion. All were in favor. Action Passed. Payton Hill is newly elected Director.
President –
Hillerie Staton made motion to nominate Cathy Cantrell. Jamie Hamiltion-Riddle seconded the motion. All were in favor. Action passed. Cathy Cantrell is newly elected President.
Vice-President –
Cathy Cantrell made motion to nominate Hillerie Staton. Jamie Hamilton-Riddle seconded the motion. All were in favor. Action passed. Hillerie Staton is newly elected Vice-President.
Secretary –
Discussion from last meeting – Due to issues with the non-profit status and the communication being done with IRS at this time it was motioned by Sandra Staton that the legal issues/documents continue to be handled by Cathy Cantrell (new President elect) and the newly elected Secretary to take minutes and other duties as entrusted to them by the board. This action was passed at the last Board meeting (9/21/2024).
Motion made by Cathy Cantrell to nominate Sandra Staton for Secretary. Becky Faurie seconded. All were in favor. Action was passed. Sandra Staton is newly elected Secretary.
Historian –
Sandra Staton made motion to nominate Jamie Hamilton. Hillerie Staton seconded. All were in favor. Action was passed. Jamie Hamilton is newly elected Historian.
Treasurer –
Cathy Cantrell made motion to nominate Becky Faurie. Sandra Staton seconded the motion. All were in favor. Action was passed. Becky Faurie is newly elected Treasurer.
Open Discussion (No action was taken on these items)
Cathy Cantrell moved to close the meeting at 1:02 pm. All were in favor and meeting was adjourned.
