Women of the ELCA is hosting an online event tonight at 6pm Mountain time "Truth, Skepticism, and Conspiracy Theories: A Zoom discussion on facts vs opinions" - see the registration link under the post below!

On Thursday, January 29th from 7-8pm Central, Women of the ELCA will have a Zoom presentation and discussion on the topic: Truth, Post-Truth, Serious Skepticism, and Conspiracy Theories.

Using insights from Scripture (especially Proverbs 9), Saint Augustine, and Martin Luther we will consider the difference between a theory and a conspiracy theory and the difference between healthy skepticism and dangerous relativism. If you wonder “Who can I trust?” and “How can I talk to those who disagree with my view of the facts?” this session is for you.

What does it really mean to be “blessed”? Explore the Beatitudes, God’s upside-down kingdom, and how faith calls us to communal justice and grace.

Bishop Ben Quanbeck's message of gratitude as we continue God's work across the Montana Synod.

01/19/2026

Dr. King reminded the church that unity is not passive and justice is not optional. The Beloved Community he preached and practiced calls us to love our neighbors, resist violence, and work—together—for dignity and equity for all.

During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, we remember that the unity we seek is not sameness, but shared commitment: to truth, to nonviolence, and to the hard, holy work of reconciliation.

May we honor Dr. King not only with remembrance, but with lives shaped by courage, compassion, and care for one another.

Prayer:
God of justice and peace, strengthen us to build beloved community—across difference, through service, and with love that does not turn away.
Amen.

This is the shape of God’s dream:
news born in vulnerability,
joy proclaimed by the overlooked,
power shown not through force,
but through flesh.

So let us proclaim the good news loudly.
Let us make space for joy that shakes the walls.
Let us resist fear’s domination
by bearing witness to light, to peace,
to Christ among us.

Because tonight, we remember:

Fear may be loud, but love is louder.
Violence may be strong, but hope is stronger.
And the good news—God is here—will not be silenced.

It's easy to get wrapped up (pun intended!) in the frenzy of gifting at Christmas, yet the greatest gifts we have come from God. Blessings, and Merry Christmas!

God’s people are exiled under the thumb of a world power. Fearful artisans solder golden idols, hoping for security. But God is not found in the hands of the powerful or the shine of idols. God is present amid the rubble, comforting the forsaken and reminding them of their place in God’s story. No matter which empire holds sway, God sides with the subjugated and disenfranchised. Despite the fear that causes the very earth to tremble, God accompanies the downtrodden, upholding them with a steady hand.
