An hour ago, someone commented on our page… "Proud ignorant woman preaching to men... stay silent rib."

Imagine being a grown man and talking about another man’s wife like that.

Let's talk about that word. Rib. They think it's an insult. They think "rib" means lesser. Leftover. Spare part. An afterthought God scraped together once He'd already finished the real work.

Go read the text again.

The rib wasn't waste. It wasn't the part God didn't need. It was the part God chose. Out of every material available to Him, He didn't reach for dust again. He reached for something already living, already breathing, already inside the man closest to his heart.

Adam didn't lose a rib. He gave one. And what came back to him wasn't lesser than what he gave.

It was issah. Equal to man, standing beside man, not behind him. Not under him. Beside him.

My wife is next to me and I am next to her.

The rib sits next to the heart. It protects it. It's not a footnote to the story, it's positioned closer to the center of the man than almost anything else in his body.

So when someone tells my wife to "stay silent, rib," they think they're insulting her.

They just told her she's positioned closest to the heart of the very thing they claim to be defending.

This is exactly why we wrote, She Must Preach.
