A group of Newman Center student and resident parish members participated in a "Walk for Justice" - walking from the Newman Center to the downtown Central Bank Center next to Rupp Arena on Tuesday April 14, 2026 for the BUILD Nehemiah Action Event. Together the parish had over one hundred members join the twenty-five other congregations to make over 1200 on hand to advocate for policies to make a better Lexington.

Please join us this Sunday for the season’s last Adult Ed session. Our speaker is Holy Spirit’s own Father Marc Bentley, who will talk about the Catholic Church in Appalachia. The Diocese of Lexington is a mission diocese that serves 40 Appalachian counties in Eastern Kentucky. Fr. Marc has an M.A. in Appalachian Studes from Appalachian State University. Adult Ed meets on Sunday mornings following the 9am Mass; we usually meet in the sanctuary, but we’ll move this week to Room 2 so that the second graders can practice for their first communion. Coffee and sweets are served beforehand in the Narthex. All are welcome!

Many of us have said at one time or another, “Lord, if I had been there, I would have stayed with You.” And the Church, in her wisdom, gently asks us: Oh really? Now is your chance. Through the sacred liturgy, we are not merely remembering these events—we are truly made present to them.

So come. Be there with Him.

Fr. Anthony
