April 2020 Update
Greetings from the Kellys!
I don’t know if you ever noticed, but oftentimes in our prayer letters we would tell you of our agenda and then follow by saying, “Lord willing.” Those were never idle words or just something to fill a page or an effort to sound religious. We always meant those words! We always know WHO is ultimately in control of our lives.
That being said, our schedule for this spring/summer looks like this:
March: two church presentations
Meetings with pastors
April: trip to Curacao
Church presentations
Meetings with pastors
May: trip to Trinidad and Tobago
Trip to St. Lucia
Church presentations
Meetings with pastors
July: two teams going to Curacao. One team for Sr. camp week and one team for a Jr. camp week.
Team going to St. Lucia
Dave as camp speaker-NC camp
Well, you can see where this is going!
God is not dead, nor has HE abdicated HIS throne. We would much rather work HIS schedule, in HIS timeframe, in HIS will, than do ANYTHING on our own. We know we can trust HIM! I’m sure you do, too, but I think it is important for us to say that to each other. God loves us and HE is in control.
Psa 89:11 The heavens are Thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, Thou hast founded them. The heavens are GOD’s, the whole earth is HIS, the world is HIS. Our GOD is in control.
This past year, many of our Local Church ministries that we have established in various Caribbean countries have seen many young people come to know Christ as Savior. Here are a couple of testimonies from St. Lucia typical of what is happening in the other islands also where we have Word of Life ministries:
ST. LUCIA- from a Pastor’s wife
“Here is the story of a 6-year-old: when we started Olympian club, TJ was too young; however, he was always hanging around. After turning 6 over the summer last year, he was excited to become active in club. One day, I asked TJ, why didn't you go visit your relative with your cousins? He said, " Miss, I did not go because I like coming to church to learn about God." Dave, you need to know that when we moved to our said location, the family of that little boy near the church refused to let him attend. With much prayer, he is there all the time. When we did our Olympian group community service, he was one of those whose parent donated baby items for the Pediatric Children' s wing at our community hospital. He was also extremely excited to accompany us to deliver the basket.
Another one is of a 9-year-old boy who became part of the club in September. Once he got the hang of Quiet Time, as well as his Scripture memory, he continues to do them on a consistent basis.”
Fruit of your ongoing ministries!
Dave is studying and preparing power point presentations to teach two courses at the Word of Life Bible Institute in the Philippines, March 2021, Lord willing. One of the courses is a new course for him.
We were able to participate in an online meeting with over 120 Word of Life staff/missionaries. Technology!
Pray as we are making plans to “hit the road” running as soon as the “all clear” is given. Sandy and I have done much prayer, study and planning as we see the Lord continue to lead us.
Please let us know how we can pray for you during this time. We always like to hear from you.
Thank you for praying for us. Thank you so much for your continued support.
God bless you and stay safe!
Your missionaries to the Youth of the World,
Dave and Sandy Kelly
