Isn’t it nice when you DON’T have to worry about trusting someone?

Relationships are so much easier when we know we can trust that the other person can be relied on. The same is true when it comes to our relationship with God. As we learn to trust and rely on Him, our relationship with Him gets better. Though it may be difficult to have “hope and confidence” in God at all times, as we do, over time, our faith and relationship with Him will grow.

Is there anything going on in your life that you need to start trusting God with? Something you’ve been trying to fix or control on your own? Pray about it. Ask God to give you hope, peace, and guidance as you learn to trust Him with whatever’s going on.

What a beautiful day to serve with others in our community for the Rise Against Hunger Meal Packing Event!

We packed enough bags/boxes to feed over 45 children their daily school lunch meals for an entire year! It was a wonderful time of fellowship and fun.

Special thanks to Molly Kay & Emma Moore, Reba & Sherry Miller and Marie, Christopher and Levi Dudley for helping today!!

Our youth mission trip fellowship meal fundraiser was a success! We raised $281 to help with our summer mission trip expenses.

Special THANKS to everyone who donated food items, all the youth and leaders that came out help set up for and prepare the “breakfast” meal, those that served the meal and those that stayed after and helped clean up.

We truly appreciate the love and support shown to our youth and ministry!

This Saturday, April 13 from 9:00 - 11:00 am
Youth will join others in our community for the Rise Against Hunger’s fun, hands-on mission meal packaging event! This event will be held at the Effinger Fire Department.

The assembly process combines rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix including 23 essential vitamins and minerals into small meal packages. These meal packages are shipped around the world to support school feeding programs and crisis relief. The food stores easily, transports quickly and has a shelf-life of two years.

Please let Molly Kay know if you are planning to help with this wonderful community outreach by tomorrow, Thursday, April 11!

It’s really easy to be selfish, isn’t it? We’re all naturally pretty good at putting our own needs before the needs of others. But selfishness doesn’t look good on anyone, does it? It’s never helpful and almost always hurtful.

Thankfully, Jesus modeled a better way for us. On the cross, Jesus put the needs of humanity before His own, and it changed the world forever. And it is the humility of Jesus that we are called to model. Humility is powerful, impactful, and compelling to others. When we choose to lead with humility, we’re not only impacting someone by putting them first, but we’re showing them a glimpse of who Jesus is in us.

Today, look for opportunities to humble yourself by putting the needs of others before your own. Lead with your humility to serve someone in your life whose needs might be bigger than your own.

Life can be hectic. Juggling multiple responsibilities, navigating global tragedies, friendships, and facing those intense moments of crisis that comes with being human, is never easy.

That’s why making time for rest is important when it comes to our faith life. After creating the world, Genesis tells us that God rested. Even Jesus, when living on Earth, would find time for solitude and rest. He offers us rest as well. Rest could be a nap after school, a couple of deep breaths, or a walk outside.

The point of rest is to help us feel at peace and at ease with our surroundings. It allows us to connect with God knowing that God has it all under control. When we rest, we are growing our faith and becoming more like Jesus.

Imagine you had two magnets and you placed one on a table and slowly pushed the other closer to it, then suddenly they flew together!

This verse is similar to the magnets: when one magnet moves closer to the other, the other comes to meet it. When you move closer to God, He comes rushing back to meet you. Maybe something has stopped you from coming closer to God. No matter what’s held you back in the past, listen to what James is saying now. You can come close to God and, you can know that He will come close to you. He will be there waiting. The moment you move toward God, you will see that He has been there all along moving toward you.

This week, ask a trusted friend or Small Group Leader what it looks like for them to come close or draw near to God. Ask them to help you do the same, remembering that He is there ready and waiting for you.
