On May 24 at 10:30am we will celebrate Pentecost, the 50th day after Easter. This day is known as the birthday of the Christian church because the early disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke to the crowds in many languages so that all could understand their preaching.
On Pentecost (also known as Whitsunday) it's our tradition to wear red to symbolize the flames of the Holy Spirit. As you can see in the picture below, the Sanctuary has been beautifully prepared in red paraments and the organist has new "spirited" Organmasters that will make her feet fly! Our service will be Morning Prayer Rite Two with the appointed readings for Pentecost, and we'll sing three favorite Spirit songs.
As always, All are welcome!
