HISTORY
The roots for Servants of our Lord Ministry date back to 2005. A church from Lexington Illinois sent a mission team to Kentucky Cornerstone ministry located in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky to do home repairs for an economically deprived family. Since that initial trip nearly 100 more trips have been made back to Kentucky Cornerstone delivering clothing, furniture, working applia
nces, and tons of food. In 2013 the passions of our ministry team to help the people of Appalachia lead us to form Servants of our Lord Ministry, Inc. a not-for-profit corporation. Why the people of the Appalachians? The Appalachians is the most economically depressed area in America. Appalachia is now home to 13.3 million people living in poverty, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Owsley County Kentucky, located in Central Kentucky, is the poorest county in America with 66 percent of all children living in poverty, according to the U.S. Today that passion continues as we expand our outreach to other missions in the Appalachians. Through our partnership with our local food bank we can reach out and help thousands of economically deprived families by delivering food on a monthly basis to several food pantries in Central Kentucky for further distribution.
