Servants of our Lord Ministry

Servants of our Lord Ministry To serve our Lord Jesus Christ, by meeting the spiritual and material needs of many economically deprived individuals primarily located in the Appalachians.

HISTORY

The roots for Servants of our Lord Ministry date back to 2005. A church from Lexington Illinois sent a mission team to Kentucky Cornerstone ministry located in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky to do home repairs for an economically deprived family. Since that initial trip nearly 100 more trips have been made back to Kentucky Cornerstone delivering clothing, furniture, working applia

nces, and tons of food. In 2013 the passions of our ministry team to help the people of Appalachia lead us to form Servants of our Lord Ministry, Inc. a not-for-profit corporation. Why the people of the Appalachians? The Appalachians is the most economically depressed area in America. Appalachia is now home to 13.3 million people living in poverty, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Owsley County Kentucky, located in Central Kentucky, is the poorest county in America with 66 percent of all children living in poverty, according to the U.S. Today that passion continues as we expand our outreach to other missions in the Appalachians. Through our partnership with our local food bank we can reach out and help thousands of economically deprived families by delivering food on a monthly basis to several food pantries in Central Kentucky for further distribution. HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Become a Prayer Partner:

• Pray we are sensitive to the Lord’s leading.

• Pray about how your church, small group, Sunday School Class or you as an individual may become involved in this ministry.

• Pray that all glory be given to God. We invite you to partner with us in this ministry. We know we cannot change the conditions in the Appalachians, but with your help we can make one day brighter for them.

• Through our partnership with our local food bank, a $400 donation for transportation cost will allow us to deliver over $3,000 of food to food pantries in Central Kentucky for further distribution to economically deprived families.

• With your help of a $300 donation we can purchase a reconditioned stove, refrigerator, washer or dryer. Many families don’t have working appliance
• With your help of $40 we can deliver a box of groceries to an economically deprived family. Please make checks payable to: Servants of our Lord Ministry and write on the memo line “Appalachian Outreach” and mail to P.O. Box 224, Lexington, IL 61753. Your donations are tax deductable. Servants of our Lord Ministry, Inc is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, Federal Tax ID # 46-4339602. Thank you so much for standing with us in prayer and financial support of our ministry. We had a great week at the Clay City, KY WAREHOUSE. Filling orders, spreading hope, and filling hearts with love. If you are not too busy next month, maybe you can come out and show us what you have to give to those in need. It will warm your heart, give you
a cardio workout and get you a great meal for helping! Also saying some extra prayers for Dana, Ellen, Jimmy, and Loren - hope you all get better soon!

Keep Jesus in your heart, for on Sunday we will all say HE IS RISEN! Praise be to him who put our lives before his very own! [1 Peter 2:24] (NIV): "'He himself bore our sins' in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; 'by his wounds you have been healed'". This week signifies so many signs of love that Jesus had for all of us.
