“Do you have a Pastor?”

I asked Chat, “why should someone have a Pastor, even in a large church (where the Pastor may not personally know them well)?”

Chat dropped 💣💣💣

Biblically, a pastor is not just a preacher you listen to. A pastor is someone God uses to shepherd, guide, protect, equip, and care for people spiritually. That matters whether a church has 50 people or 50,000 people.

1. God designed believers to be shepherded, not self-led.
Jesus is the Chief Shepherd, but He gives pastors to help care for His people. (Ephesians 4:11-12) 🐑

2. Pastors help protect truth and direction.
In a world full of opinions and platforms, pastors help people discern truth from error and wisdom from confusion. (Acts 20:28) 🗣️

3. Spiritual growth happens in accountable community.
The New Testament assumes believers are connected, known, and spiritually led — not isolated. (Hebrews 13:17) 🌱

4. Large churches are still biblical when shepherding is shared.
The early church grew rapidly too. Leadership was distributed through pastors, elders, leaders, and smaller communities so people could still be cared for. (Acts 2) 🙏🏽

5. Pastors are meant to help people mature in Christ.
Not create dependence on themselves, but help people grow into who God called them to be. (Ephesians 4:13) 💪🏽

The goal is not celebrity proximity.
The goal is spiritual formation.

A healthy church — large or small — creates pathways where people can:

* be taught
* be known
* be corrected
* be encouraged
* be prayed for
* be equipped
* and grow into maturity in Christ.
