“The New Testament consistently describes this period as one of waiting. Not a passive waiting, as though nothing is happening, but a waiting that is anchored in the certainty of the resurrection and the life of the world to come.”

The Christian life is lived between Christ’s resurrection and our own, sustained by a promise that has not yet fully appeared.

“Unfortunately, much of our life is not lived there in those “mountain top experiences” as our Evangelical brothers and sisters would say. Most days are shaped by routine, responsibility, and repetition, and the majority of our time is spent not in dramatic and emotional experiences, but in ordinary tasks that don’t seem all that spiritual.”

“The Christian life isn’t lived by escaping the ordinary, but by living in it differently.”

“Scripture doesn’t teach us that righteousness is something that we build through our effort or establish through our consistent obedience. It teaches us that righteousness is given as a gift by God to us through Jesus Christ.”

The Christian life is not about becoming worthy of love, but about living from the love already given in Christ.

“There are seasons in the Christian life when God does not feel near. Prayer seems to fall into silence. Scripture, once vivid and immediate, can begin to feel distant or difficult to grasp. The sense of God’s presence, which may have once felt steady or familiar, becomes unclear.”

The hiddenness of God is not the absence of God. It is often the way He teaches us to trust His promises rather than our perception.

“We confess that our sins are forgiven. We hear the words of absolution. We know the passages that speak of grace and mercy. And yet, the sense of condemnation can still linger. It can raise a difficult question: if I am truly forgiven, why does it still feel like this?”

The voice of condemnation may remain, but it does not speak the truth over you.

“Healing does not come, or it comes only partially. It is not uncommon, in these moments, to begin wondering whether something has gone wrong, not only physically, but spiritually.”

The resurrection of Christ does not mean the body always recovers in this life. It means the body will not remain broken forever.

“Financial hardship has a way of pressing into every corner of life. It’s rarely contained to a single moment or decision, but instead, it lingers and shapes how we think about the future, how we make decisions, and how we carry ourselves day to day.”

The resurrection of Christ does not remove the pressures of daily life. It places the promise of God within them.

“Death has a way of unsettling everything. What once seemed stable feels fragile. What once felt certain now feels uncertain. The absence left behind is not theoretical. It’s concrete, and it lingers in ways that are often felt long after the moment of loss has passed.”

The resurrection of Christ does not remove the reality of death. It changes what death means.

“Divorce isn’t simply a legal change or a relational shift; it reaches into the deepest parts of a person’s life and leaves behind a kind of emptiness that is difficult to describe.”

When marriage breaks, it can feel like everything that once held life together has come undone. But even here, Christ’s promise does not break.

“The resurrection of Jesus Christ isn’t simply the conclusion of His work. It’s the beginning of how that finished work is continually given to His people. The risen Christ isn’t absent; He is present.”

“The risen Christ is not absent; He is present, active, and continually giving what He has already secured.”
