THIS MAY OFFEND SOME OF YOU..... I AM STILL GOING TO POST IT, CAUSE THATS HOW MUCH AS A PASTOR I LUV YA'LL!!!!!!!!
I’m becoming more and more aware of the fact that many people are beginning to confuse being a part of Christ’s church with attending a Christ crowd. There is a very big difference. Somehow there are a lot of Christians today that have lost the vision of the local church. There is an increasing number of Christians who have become content with simply attending a weekend crowd when convenient. They have clearly forgotten that Christ came to build a church, not just build a crowd.
If the church is reduced to nothing more than a weekend gathering for music and teaching, we miss out on what Jesus came to build. Jesus came to build a movement of people who are on mission together. They do meet for worship and teaching but they also meet for caring and discipleship. They serve each other and they work together to evangelize the community in which they are located. They share their resources with each other and send out missionaries to other parts of the world. The church was designed to be a force to be reckoned with, not just a weekend activity when it fits in your schedule.
As a pastor of a local church, I look out at our crowd every week and see countless numbers of people who never commit to more than worship service participation one or two weeks a month. This not the biblical teaching on the church. The bible teaches a church that is attacking the gates of Hell. The church is a group of people on the move for Christ. This kind of church takes much more of a commitment than many Christians are giving these days. The enemy is quite pleased with this lack of commitment.
If you wake up on Sunday morning and ask the question, “which church do I want to go to?” you do not have the same vision of the church that Jesus had. You need a new vision! -- Ken Adams
