Today’s lesson is the opening of Paul’s letter to the people in Philippi, urging the community there to be loving while he is in prison. The proclamation of the gospel of Christ brings joy and thanksgiving even in difficult circumstances. God’s love in Jesus comes to us because of God’s eternal faithfulness and grace. Knowing this gives us reason to rejoice, regardless of what else is going on in our lives!
