St. John's Lutheran Church Worship with us at 9:30 a.m.! St. J's is a congregation that's deep in the heart of Lexington, SC.

We've been serving this community since 1831, and God's not through with us yet! Through the waters of baptism, we've been called to be ambassadors of Christ to the community around us, bringing God's love to our neighbors faithfully. We've also been called into partnership with our community so that we can join our neighbors in the things that God is already doing in their lives!

There are true heroes of 9/11 who were actually carried out of the rubble, most notably one who gave his life trying to save others.

Father Mychal Judge OFM, Franciscan friar, Catholic priest and beloved chaplain of the FDNY, didn't wait for orders on September 11, 2001.

When the alarm sounded at Company 1, the 68 year-old priest grabbed his helmet and headed straight for the Twin Towers. He was known for being there for his firefighters. Sadly, he was officially designated the first certified fatality of the September 11 terrorist attacks: Victim 0001.

Ignore the tall tales of stolen valor and remember the truly courageous who put others first when it mattered! 💪🏻🙏🏻💔😭🇺🇸
On the Anniversary of 9/11, remember where you were and the gut wrenching feeling you experienced. But most of all, give thanks to the Lord for the First Responders and remember all the precious lives lost. Let us never forget. God hold 🙏 them all in the Palms of your Hands! A calendar and invitation reminder to all members and friends of St. John's Luthern Church in Lexington to join us for our Annual Homecoming Celebration on Sunday August 16, 2026. Our worship service that morning will be at 10:30am followed by a covered dish lunch at 11:30am. We are excited to have back as our guest Pastor Rev. Ron Brown and his wife Kathy, and they are excited to come back and see old friends. We hope to see as many of you as possible to celebrate our Church Life and hear some of your good memories. Prayer request: The St. John's Lutheran Church Family in Lexington request your prayers for Charles and Jan Wingard as they grieve the loss of Jan's father Robert J. Caughman who died today June 4th. Caughman-Harman is handling arrangements. May God hold this good Family in the Palms of His Hands. Funeral will be Saturday, June 6th, at 11am at Pond Branch Methodist located at 1913 Pond Branch Rd., Gilbert.🙏🙏🙏Pastor Mark
