St. John's Lutheran Church

St. John's Lutheran Church Worship with us at 9:30 a.m.! St. J's is a congregation that's deep in the heart of Lexington, SC.

We've been serving this community since 1831, and God's not through with us yet! Through the waters of baptism, we've been called to be ambassadors of Christ to the community around us, bringing God's love to our neighbors faithfully. We've also been called into partnership with our community so that we can join our neighbors in the things that God is already doing in their lives!

The first scripture reading for this Sunday, February 8, 2026, taken from Isaiah 58:6-9a:
Is this not the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of injustice, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover them and not hide yourself from your own kin? Then your light shall break forth like the dawn, and your healing shall spring up quickly; your vindicator shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry for help, and he will say, "Here I am."
Welcoming all to join with the good people of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lexington and let our answer to injustice and oppression be the Lord's words, Here I am to welcome, comfort, and feed the oppressed.
