Reminder:

We will be having another social/play group this coming Thursday, June 27, at Jacobson Park. It's a pretty big playground with a splashpad right next to it. Also plenty of green space nearby for any tweens/teens that come along and want to play football or soccer or something. Hope to see many of you there! June 27, 10:30am, Jacobson Park.

July 10: Chess meet-up at Shillito Park, 10:30am
July 11: Social/play date at Legacy Grove Park in Wi******er, 10:30am
August 2: Pray & Play at St. Francis de Sales, Georgetown, Mass at 10am, play and picnic afterwards

We had at least some interest in the Park Day at Shilito tomorrow so we'll go ahead and do it for those who can come. Come on out if you can, we'll meet up at the Playground at Shilito Park about 11am. See you then!

First Friday Homeschool Play date this Friday August 4! We'll be at St. Francis de Sales in Georgetown (4088 Frankfort Rd, Georgetown 40324). There is a Mass at 10am. After Mass (about 10:45ish) we can meet on the porch of the farmhouse to hangout, kids can play on the property; pack a picnic lunch too. Bring soccer or footballs, any other outdoor activities. If the farmhouse is open there are also indoor activities if it rains. The homeschool library is also open for browsing inside the farmhouse. Hope to see many of you there!!

Park Day this week! Join us at Legacy Grove Park in Wi******er this Thursday, July 27 at 11:00am. No rain likely, but it'll be a warm day. Address: 1107 W Lexington Rd. Turn onto McCann to get into the park. We'll meet at the playground, there is also a water feature at the park.

16,380 hours 🤯

That is how much time you gain back with your child when you homeschool. You do not need to recreate school at home, you do not need to put the pressure on of a classroom setting or test.

You get the power to focus on building relationships and growing together. You get to let the child learn who they are and how to listen to their body. You get to slow down together in a world where the hustle bustle doesn’t stop.

Embrace it. Cherish it. Have fun.

Park Day tomorrow, July 13!!

The weather looks iffy but we're still going to go for it. Rain chances are around 30% at 11am, they increase quite a bit by 2pm and we'll likely be long gone before then. If anyone wants to meet at 10:30 instead to try to have some time there before the rain comes, I think I'll be there about then, too. Hopefully the rain will hold off until a little later.

Jacobson Park playground 10:30/11am. See you then!

More Park Dates for Summer 2023! (EDIT: park location change for Wi******er on July 27th, please make note)

We had a nice time at our last one a few weeks ago and have planned four more. Here's the plan going forward:

Thursday July 13, 11:00am, Jacobson Park, Lexington (Athens-Boonesboro Rd), meet at the Playground (go left when you enter the park, it's near the lake and the boat dock)

Thursday July 27, 11:00am, Legacy Grove Park, Wi******er (1107 W Lexington Ave, turn onto McCann Dr and follow around to parking near the playground), park has a water feature too!

Friday August 4, St. Francis de Sales, Georgetown (4088 Frankfort Rd. Georgetown), Mass at 10am, First Friday, playtime for the kids afterwards (10:45ish) on the church grounds, parents can hang out on the porch of the farmhouse. (If you can't make Mass but can come late, please do, the more the merrier!)

Wednesday August 16, 11:00am, Shilito Park, Lexington, meet at the playground.

Attention Homeschooling Parents: Blessed Portillo Study Group is opening at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg, KY, on August 8 th , 2023!
We will be holding a Parent Meeting on Thursday, June 29 th , at 6:00 PM in Gabriel Hall at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
We will offer three days in-school (Tues.-Thurs.) and at-home plans for Mondays and Fridays for students in grades one through eight. Additionally, the school will offer high school classes in botany, literature, modern history and health. In-school days will be

It's been a long time since we've done anything. Let's fix that!! Come meet us on Wednesday June 28, 1:00pm at Shilito Park in Lexington. Bring the sunscreen and lots of water! We'll meet at the playground and the kids can play while the adults visit. Hope to see many there!!
