Today at the National March for Life we had the good fortune of running into Armando Herrera-Dosreis (VMI '16), seminarian for the Diocese of Richmond/Archdiocese of Military Services, currently finishing his last semester of studies at Theological College!

Best of luck to all the cadets as they start a new semester!

Saturday night we celebrated Gaudete Sunday by reviving a 30+ year tradition of the "Almost Christmas, Almost Midnight" Mass. The evening started with caroling at 10:30 pm, then Mass celebrated by Fr. Jay Biber, followed by the best homemade hot chocolate and fellowship! It was a great way for students and cadets to relax prior to finals and prepare for Christmas while amongst their friends here in Lexington.

As you may know, today is Giving Tuesday, but first, we want to share some pictures from VMI Ring Figure. Every year, 2nd Class cadets receive their class rings as a symbol of the challenges and victories they've experienced during their time at the Institute. For the past three years, the class has asked local chaplains to participate in a blessing of the rings. This year was a deeply meaningful ceremony, with a prayer offered by Cadet Heather Crum ('23), reflection by Kevin Riedel, Director of Catholic Campus Ministry, and a Blessing of the Rings by local pastor Fr. Migac. This moment in the cadets' lives had additional significance because of the role Catholic Campus Ministry has had in their cadetship: from Rat Sunday, to Host Families, the Rats' Nest, Newman Club, annual retreats, Sunday evening Mass and dinner, and Saturday service days, Faith has had an important role in the formation of our future graduates. All of those things are possible because of your prayers and financial support. So, we invite you to celebrate this moment with our cadets, and consider lending your continued support towards this critical ministry that helps shape cadets and students in the Faith.

Easy one-time or monthly offertory giving available through Faithdirect: https://membership.faithdirect.net/enroll/VA830

Or, mail checks to Lexington Catholic Campus Ministry, P.O. Box 725, Lexington, VA 24450.

Thank you for your generosity and your prayerful support!

We've had a full week leading up to Thanksgiving! During Tuesday's Theology on Tap, we hosted students from W&L Law, W&L, and VMI for a talk from Professor Drumbl on the role of the Church in international relations and law. Tonight we invited students from Intervarsity to join us for adoration and a community meal. Pray that hearts will continue to be open to encountering God!

A reminder: Our ministry depends on our supporters! If you'd like to contribute, you can find more details on how to donate online or by mail at our website, https://catholex.com/donate. Thanks in advance, and please keep Lexington Catholic Campus Ministry in your prayers!

We are busy building community here in Lexington! Last Saturday, cadets and students from VMI and W&L teamed up with Rockbridge Habitat for Humanity and some future homeowners to work on the construction of two new homes in the Greenhouse Community. Much fun was had and new skills were learned by all!

Last weekend we hosted a joint retreat in beautiful Goshen, VA with students from Hampden-Sydney, Longwood, Washington and Lee, and VMI. We were joined by Fr. Jay Biber for Mass, adoration and confessions, and our keynote speaker, Patrick Drury, who delivered some excellent talks on what it means to be in relationship with God and others.
