There comes a point when a believer realizes she has spent years trying to hold everything together while quietly wondering who will hold her.

She has cared for children, stood beside family through illness, buried people she loved, forgiven more than anyone knows, and carried questions she could never answer. She has prayed in kitchens before sunrise, in hospital rooms under harsh lights, and in bed when sleep would not come. Through it all, she may have believed she was searching for Jesus.

But the deeper truth is this: He was already searching for her.

Jesus was never hidden by distance. He was never absent because the answers were slow. He was present in every warning she ignored, every truth that would not leave her mind, every person who offered help, and every moment when her conscience urged her toward what was good. Even when she wandered from Him, He continued to work within her freedom, calling without forcing, leading without crushing her will.

Looking back can bring pain. We replay the choices we made, the years we lost, the relationships we tried to save, and the doors we refused to close. We ask why God allowed certain wounds to last so long. Yet the Lord saw the cost of every night spent worrying, every apology we offered without receiving one, and every burden we carried because we thought love required us to suffer without limit.

Not everything familiar was meant to remain. Some things felt safe only because they were known. Some doors had to close because peace could not grow where fear ruled the heart. The Lord does not take away what makes us whole. He works to free us from what keeps us bound.

Prayer is where we stop pretending we can control every outcome. We bring Him our memories, decisions, families, health, regrets, and future. We ask Him to clear the mind, guard the heart, restore what has been damaged, and teach us how to choose what is true and loving. Surrender is not helplessness. It is the act of placing our life into hands wiser than our own.

The urge to panic may return. We may want to force an answer, reopen a closed door, or take back the burden we gave to God. In that moment, we can breathe, pray again, and keep walking. Jesus does not shame the woman who loses her way. He meets her, turns her toward the light, and walks beside her.

I did not find Jesus. He found me. He was never lost. I was—and His love knew exactly where to reach me.

Jesus, thank You for seeking me when I could not see the way forward. Heal what still hurts, forgive what I regret, protect me from returning to what harmed me, and give me strength to follow where You lead. Clear my mind, steady my heart, and help me trust that Your presence has never left me. Amen.

When did you realize that Jesus had been reaching for you long before you knew how to reach for Him?

Evil is still evil, even if the whole world accepts it. God is still God, even if no one believes.

Jesus never asked us to measure someone's worth before offering love. He simply called us to love as He first loved us... with grace, compassion, and open hands. The world changes one act of Christlike love at a time.
