Corbin Presbyterian Church, Corbin, KY

Our church is a friendly, caring community primarily of longtime area residents, along with a few newer members and attendees. Although our congregation is growing grayer and smaller, we embody a variety of backgrounds, talents, and perspectives that contribute energy and creativity to church life. Most members are active in church activities beyond worship and pursue lives of service and leadership in the region.

We are committed to providing a venue for Christian fellowship and for thoughtful exploration of how to model Christ in our personal lives and in the wider community. We enjoy frequent fellowship meals and share in managing our facility and organizing ministry activities. In the past the church has sponsored and supported several community programs (such as scouting, food support programs, ecumenical VBS and worship). Despite more limited resources currently, we hope to explore new ways to engage with and serve the Corbin community.

Our core vision remains to provide a loving church family for all. We express this commitment through a traditional style of worship and appreciate thought-provoking sermons. However, a common sermon theme is that Christ calls us to change so that we can be agents of change. So, beyond maintaining our heritage of congregational fellowship and worship, we seek a new vision of how Corbin Presbyterian Church can be an impactful resource for God’s grace in our area.

Versailles Presbyterian Church, Versailles, KY

Our vision for ministry, to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with God, has guided us in all we do since 2007. After months of congregational and committee focus groups, surveys and staff input asking people to complete the statement, “The church I dream of. . .,” the vision team looked at the responses and agreed the dreams expressed are spoken in Micah 6:8. It was our vision then, and it continues to be the star in the sky that we can never reach, but gives us direction and lights our way.

What we do is serve. We do not have to look to the future to imagine how our vision could impact the community because it is alive and working in the community now. Our dream is to find the leader who will embrace our vision, follow the star and lead us to new and exciting ways to serve. Our location on Main St., in a vibrant and oh-so-pretty- downtown, gives us unique opportunities to compassionately serve our community. We found a way to serve during the pandemic through a partnership with the local health department. One day a week, our idle welcome center was transformed into the community covid vaccination clinic. More than 7,000 vaccinations were administered over 15 months offering life-saving protection not only to our church family, but to our neighbors. It is our joy to extend love and grace to those who walk alongside us in our journey of faith.

The Presbyterian Church in Danville, Danville, KY

The Presbyterian Church of Danville is located in historic downtown Danville, KY. Boyle County has a population of around 31,000 and continues slow, steady growth. Boyle County has a strong commitment to education, with excellent city and county school systems, a growing community college, and an outstanding liberal arts college, Centre College.

This congregation helps address community needs through volunteering and our church’s mission programs, financially supporting local nonprofits through an endowed community aid fund, and opening our building to host outside community programs such as AA, Adult GED program, and a pay as you can program. Leadership in local organizations often comes from church members.

The Presbyterian Church of Danville looks to respond to the emerging needs of our community, and we seek leadership from a new pastor to improve our Christian response to:

Increasing homelessness, affordable housing challenges, child poverty, and food insecurity

Increasing Mental Health problems and substance use issues

A growing number of people who are not part of any faith community

The spiritual and emotional needs of college students, and those identifying as LGBTQ+

The Presbyterian Church of Danville already addresses most of these needs in various ways, and knows that God calls us to continue to do the work of the church as needs emerge and change. We hope our new Pastor will help us discern the best ways to use the gifts we have been given to help others.

Cynthiana Presbyterian Church, Cynthiana KY

Cynthiana Presbyterian Church seeks a pastor whose faith demonstrates their knowledge and love of Christ and an awareness of the richness of the human experience. Our pastor should be able to call upon that education and understanding to tend to our flock across our varied seasons of life; through compassionate and enduring personal relationships with members and their families. And they must be leaders with us in accepting all who seek God’s grace. From the pulpit, we are anxious for Sunday sermons and services of inspiration and comfort, as well as education in the history and mystery of the Bible. In our homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and visitation spaces we seek a pastor who exemplifies Christ’s available presence and ministry of explicit and unconditional love and understanding. We have long held open wide the doors of our church whenever community needs emerge. Our pastor should reflect our church’s long tradition of faithful presence in the surrounding community, partnering with other churches, schools, civic organizations, and government agencies to spread hope, solve problems, and heal wounds.
