Nobody plans to drift. That is what makes it so dangerous. Samson did not fall in one dramatic moment. He drifted, one decision at a time. A glance here. A compromise there. Each small step away from God felt manageable, even harmless. But those steps added up, and by the time the consequences arrived, he was far from where he started.

This is how compromise works in our lives too. It rarely announces itself. It shows up quietly, dressed as something reasonable. A small exception. A habit we tell ourselves we can control. A pattern we keep meaning to address but never quite do. Pay attention to repeated patterns of compromise. That phrase is worth sitting with. Not just one-time failures, but patterns. The things that keep showing up. The areas where you keep making the same choice, expecting a different result.

Here is the encouraging truth: you do not have to wait until everything falls apart to change course. The fact that you are reading this today means there is still time. God's grace is not just for rock bottom moments. It is available right now, in the middle of the drift, before the consequences pile up. You can choose differently today.

One small step back toward God is still a step in the right direction. Do not underestimate it.

Before you took your first breath, God had a plan for your life. That is not a cliche. It is a truth that should stop you in your tracks.

Samson's story does not begin with his power. It begins with God's purpose. Before he was born, God set him apart, called him, and equipped Him for something greater than Himself. And here is the thing: the same is true for you. God does not call people because they are impressive. He calls people because He is purposeful. Your gifts, your talents, your opportunities, none of them belong to you by accident. They are a stewardship from God, given so that His purposes can move forward through your life. But here is where it gets personal. Samson had every advantage. He was chosen, empowered, and set apart. Yet he lived by one rule: what felt right to him. And that posture, over time, cost him everything.

You have been given gifts too. The question is not whether God has a purpose for your life. He does. The question is whether you are living in alignment with that purpose, or whether you are quietly doing what feels right in your own eyes. God's call on your life is an invitation to something bigger than yourself. Do not shrink it down to fit your preferences. Lean into it. Trust Him with it. You were made for more than just getting by.

Sometimes God removes our comfort before He restores our sight. That is not cruelty. That is grace.

Saul was struck blind on the road to Damascus. Everything he had relied on, his status, his certainty, his ability to act, was suddenly gone. And it was in that darkness that he finally encountered the real Jesus.

Many of us can relate to a moment like that. A health crisis. A relationship that fell apart. A plan that collapsed. A season where the things we had been quietly trusting in were no longer available to us. Those moments feel like loss. But often, they are invitations. When the things we have been leaning on are removed, we discover what we have actually been standing on. And sometimes that discovery is uncomfortable. But it is also the beginning of something real. Jesus does not expose our blindness to leave us in the dark. He exposes it because He intends to heal it.

Saul did not stay blind. He was filled with the Holy Spirit, restored, and transformed into one of the greatest witnesses the church has ever known. Whatever you are walking through right now, do not lose hope. The exposure is not the end of your story. It is the beginning of your healing.

When you cry out to Jesus, He stops. Every. Single. Time. No matter how dark life gets, He hears your voice and bends down to listen. Don't stop calling out to Him.
