When your identity truly changes, your relationships transform around you. When you know you're adopted, you stop living for approval. When you know you're redeemed, you stop living in shame. When you know you're sealed, you stop living in fear. These aren't just nice thoughts - they're life-altering realities that reshape how you love others. Insecure people wound people, but spirit-filled people love differently. The difference isn't perfection; it's foundation. When you build relationships from wounds, you're constantly trying to get something - validation, security, control. But when you build from identity, you have something to give - love, grace, acceptance. Your marriage changes when you stop needing your spouse to complete you and start loving them from your completeness in Christ. Your parenting changes when you stop trying to live through your children's achievements and start nurturing them from a place of security. Your friendships deepen when you stop performing and start being authentic. This transformation doesn't happen overnight, but as these truths take root in your heart, watch how the Holy Spirit begins to work. You'll find yourself responding with grace instead of defensiveness, offering forgiveness instead of holding grudges, and loving others from the overflow of God's love for you.

From its beginning, our nation was founded upon the sacrifice of Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines. Our military preceded our Nation, has protected it for over 250 years, and will preserve our Republic for generations to come. Ordinary citizens have always answered extraordinary calls to duty, and the American Armed Forces member always will. That comes at a great price - often the ultimate one - and our fallen Soldiers' friends and Gold Star Families nobly carry on the memory of our fallen. So, too, does the United States citizenry.

Please pause this Memorial Day to remember the fallen, the call they answered, and the price they paid to preserve the ideals enshrined in our Constitution. They fell once, but we must never let time fade their legacy.

Memorial Day is deeply rooted in our history. It falls upon the transition from spring to summer: a time of vibrancy, hope, and happiness. The national tradition was timed so the blooming flowers of spring could be placed upon the graves of our fallen. This is a time of rebirth and renewal, yet it masks the burden borne by those coping with loss.

To our Gold Star Families: our Nation owes a debt that can never be fully repaid. You paid a price for our way of life, a fact that we must never take for granted. We stand with you every day, vowing to never forget your loved ones and to always honor their memory.

Today, our flags fly at half-staff as we remember our fallen. Tomorrow, we honor them as we carry on the proud legacy and the profound responsibility of the United States Armed Forces.

This We'll Defend.

Imagine trying to use a sword underwater or a shield in a vacuum - the environment matters for effective warfare. In spiritual battles, prayer creates the atmosphere where all our other weapons function properly. It's not just another tool in our arsenal; it's the very air we breathe in spiritual combat. Praying in the Spirit means we're not fighting alone or in our own strength. The Holy Spirit empowers our prayers, aligns them with God's will, and even intercedes when we don't know what to pray. This isn't about perfect words or lengthy petitions - it's about dependence on God and connection to His power. But here's what makes prayer truly powerful in spiritual warfare: it fights for others. When we pray, we're not just protecting ourselves; we're standing in the gap for family members who've walked away from faith, friends facing difficult seasons, and leaders who need wisdom. Prayer becomes an act of love that pushes back darkness in other people's lives. Jesus modeled this perfectly when He told Peter, "I have prayed for you." Even knowing Peter would deny Him, Jesus fought for Peter through prayer. We have that same privilege and responsibility today.

POV: It's Sunday morning and my family is running behind. One person just realized their shirt is in the washer, another is being hollered at, "Find your shoes, we have to go worship God!", and still another is opening the fridge to find they forgot to restock the eggs. Taking deep breaths, the would be breakfast chef says, "It's fine, guys. You can grab a muffin at church." And sure enough when we spill into the fellowship hall out of breath and trying to greet friends like we didn't just fight a war, there is a table in the corner full of fresh muffins and hot coffee.

The hospitality ministry at Relevant is extraordinary. Its members notice, provide, and ensure there is an ease to Sunday mornings. They foster an atmosphere of relaxation and peace. Every pastry reminds you that you're welcome here - as is - and it's ok to slow down. That ministry doesn't just happen. It's carefully planned and coordinated.

And to continue this, your help is needed. Whether you bake from scratch, pick up a favorite treat from the bakery, or simply grab an extra box of donuts during your grocery run, your contribution helps create that same moment of relief and welcome for someone else.

This Sunday, consider signing up to bring a pastry for the shared table. A sample list of needs is in the comments. A simple plate of muffins or a tray of cinnamon rolls may seem small, but for a tired parent, a nervous first-time visitor, or a family rushing through the doors, it can feel like grace waiting in the fellowship hall.

Take one Sunday. Bring one pastry. Help make space for peace, conversation, and community before our worship team begins their ministry.

Have you ever had a moment when a Bible verse seemed to jump off the page and speak directly to your situation? That's the sword of the Spirit in action...God's Word cutting through confusion, fear, and deception with surgical precision.

Unlike a dull blade that requires force, Scripture is naturally sharp and effective. It doesn't need our help to be powerful; it simply needs to be wielded. When Jesus faced Satan's temptations in the wilderness, He didn't argue or negotiate. He simply said, "It is written," and spoke God's truth directly into each lie. This same weapon is available to you today. That nagging voice telling you you're not good enough? There's a scripture for that. The temptation to compromise your values for temporary gain? God's Word addresses it. The fear about your future? Scripture speaks truth into that anxiety. The key is preparation.

Just as Jesus knew Scripture well enough to recall it in His moment of need, we can prepare for our battles by hiding God's Word in our hearts. When the lies come - and they will - we'll be ready with truth.

'For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.' - Hebrews 4:12

Have you ever felt like you're constantly battling just to stay afloat spiritually?

Many believers live as if they're fighting desperately to win a war that's already been decided. The truth is, Christ has already secured the victory through His death and resurrection. When Jesus died on the cross, He didn't just forgive our sins. He completely disarmed the powers of darkness and made a public spectacle of them. This changes everything about how we approach spiritual battles. We're not fighting desperately hoping to win; we're fighting from a position that's already victorious.

Think of it like a football team that's already won the championship but still needs to play out the remaining games of the season. The outcome is secure, but we still engage with confidence and purpose. This perspective transforms our approach to temptation, fear, and spiritual opposition. Instead of cowering in defeat, we can stand firm knowing that the enemy's power has been broken. Christ's victory becomes our victory, and His strength becomes our strength.
