On this Memorial Day, we stand still for a moment
To remember the brave hearts
Who gave their tomorrows
So we could live our todays.

They were sons and daughters,
Mothers and fathers,
Friends, neighbors, and heroes —
Ordinary people
Who answered an extraordinary call.

Their courage echoes
In every waving flag,
Every quiet sunrise,
Every freedom we sometimes forget to notice.

Today is not only about loss,
But about gratitude.
For sacrifice.
For service.
For the price of peace.

May we honor them
Not only with words,
But by living lives worthy
Of what they gave.

Gone, but never forgotten.
