Our Advent Conspiracy dollars at work!!

We are so grateful to North Point Christian Church for their generous gift and continued partnership with CCA.

Because of your support, families in our community will have access to the food, resources, and encouragement they need during challenging times. Your generosity is more than a gift. It is a reminder to every neighbor we serve that they are seen, valued, and not alone.

Thank you for standing with us and helping bring hope to our community. đź’™

After much discussion, our staff and Elders have made the decision to fully cancel all North Point activities tomorrow, (1/25) including the 10:15 worship service. Weather services are predicting that driving conditions will continue to worsen for at least the next 36 hours.

We want to encourage you to stay home, read the Scriptures, pray (there’s a lot to pray about), and maybe even share communion with your present family or with the rest of the global church.

Find rest. Stay warm and safe. Remember each other. Honor Christ.

See you next Sunday! The NP Staff

North Point Family,

In light of the much anticipated rain, freezing temperatures, and ice, here are some important changes in the North Point schedule this weekend:

The church work day scheduled for Saturday (1/24) is cancelled. The rescheduled date is still to be determined.

There will be NO 9:00am programs on Sunday morning (1/25). However, we will still have our 10:15 service for all the hearty souls who want to get out in the elements with other hard-core, but careful, worshippers. Nursery will be provided, but no children’s program in the Lighthouse…bring them with you to the main building.

Also, we will NOT be having our special lunch fellowship after the service. A rescheduled date is pending.

We’re really sorry for the changes. We were really looking forward to being all together this weekend. But we are convinced these are wise decisions. We hope to see all of you on Sunday at 10:15. But only if you feel confident driving in inclement weather…and you have a big winter coat to wear!

May you experience the peace and security that only Jesus can provide.

The NP Staff

So tonight, I’m talking to you as part of the Body of Christ. The church. The bride. The family of believers. The house of God. The heirs of the promises. The adults at the big table or the children in the sandbox. Whichever fits. I grew up on the softer side of fundamentalist evangelicalism. That means I was taught to believe this little jingle: “The Bible said it....

I used to blog a lot. I loved to write. It usually picked up where my Sunday morning teaching left off. It was always the place where I could say the “other” things… things that were sometimes unsafe to say in the building. It was where I could think out loud, think deeper, think creatively. And it probably reduced my need to lay on a counselors couch during those years. ...

When I was in my early 20’s, I was introduced to journaling as a regular discipline. The deeper I dove into higher education, the more writing became central to the process. When depression came knocking at my door, expressing my darkness on paper became my therapy. Somewhere on the road to maturity (still on it, btw), I found the best way for me to talk with God was to write out my prayers....
