Over 100 people attended the Catholic Funeral & Cemetery pre-planning seminar Thursday, November 17th, at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. Attendees were invited to come in person or view the presentation online. Fr. Daniel Greenleaf, pastor of Prince of Peace Parish, and Jim Boulet, Communications and Outreach Manager for Maine Catholic Cemeteries, spoke of the importance of planning funeral and cemetery arrangements arrangements ahead of time to ensure one's wishes are followed after passing from this life.

Fr. Michael Sevigny will preside at a healing prayer service on Friday, September 30, at Holy Family Church on 607 Sabattus Street in Lewiston. The service will begin at 6 p.m., and all are welcome to attend. The theme of the entire gathering is healing, from the celebrant to the music to the participants to prayer teams. Every situation is different but most involved say they receive an increase in awareness of Jesus being present and bringing peace and renewed strength. Maine Catholic Cemeteries is looking for Family Service Advisors (FSA’s) to serve families with care and compassion. FSA’s educate and guide families about cemetery advanced planning, at-need burial services, and memorial products and services. There are five Catholic cemeteries in Androscoggin County managed by St. Peter Cemetery including Mt. Hope, St. Anne, Mt. Calvary, and Ss. Cyril & Methodius.

The Diocese of Portland offers excellent compensation and benefits including a base salary plus commission, paid vacation and sick days, a 403(B) and pension plan, and medical and dental insurance.
