Like everything we do at Cornerstone, the heart of our Discipleship Groups is to worship deeply, exposit faithfully, disciple intentionally, and reach authentically all for the glory of God. Discipleship Groups are officially launching the week after Labor Day!

Discipleship is not something we were meant to do alone. Our Groups are a place to grow in God’s Word, fellowship as worship, encourage one another, and pursue spiritual maturity together.

Church, we challenge you to be open, honest, and transparent. Opening ourselves up to one another is not an easy task but if we’re to call one another family, shouldn’t we act like it?

If you’re interested in joining a group, please fill out a Discipleship Group interest form at the Welcome Desk and return it to one of the pastors or drop it in one of the black boxes located around the church. If you have any questions, feel free to message us!

What a great day of fellowship at our church cookout! Our grill volunteers cooked up some of the best chicken we’ve ever seen. The chicken looks like it belongs in a magazine.

Huge shoutout to Tyler for taking these incredible photos and capturing such a great day together.

Thank you to everyone who came out and worshipped through fellowship and loving one another the way God calls us to. We hope to see even more people at our next one!

When Paul uses the word “hated” in Romans 9:13, we’re reminded of Jesus’ words in Luke 14:26: our love for Him should be so great that every other love pales in comparison.

So here’s the question: How much do we love Jesus?

Is our love for Him simply something we confess with our mouths, or is it evident in the way we live each day?

Before Jacob and Esau had been born or had done anything good or bad, Paul points us to God’s sovereign choice and His unfolding purpose. He then looks back to Moses and Pharaoh, reminding us that God’s mercy is not something we earn, but something He freely gives.

Romans 9 brings us face-to-face with some of the biggest questions about God’s sovereignty, human responsibility, mercy, and election. They aren’t always easy questions, but they invite us to know more deeply the God who is faithful to His purposes and abundant in mercy.

In this Behind the Text, Pr. Jamie unpacks some of the context behind Romans 9 and what Paul is helping us see.

In Romans 9:1–5, Paul expresses sorrow over the unbelief of his fellow Israelites who rejected the Messiah. His words in verse 3 reveal the depth of his anguish. Paul couldn’t actually surrender his salvation for theirs but his hypothetical shows that he desperately longed for them to know Christ.

Sunday’s message challenged us to examine our own hearts. We rightly pray for the salvation of our families, but does our concern extend beyond them? Do we grieve for our neighbors, coworkers, and community who remain separated from Christ?
