Our hearts are full after such a wonderful Appreciation Dinner celebrating God’s faithfulness to Horton Haven.

We were honored to recognize Matt & Wendy Phelan for 30 years of faithful service as they step into retirement. Their impact on this ministry is immeasurable, and we are so thankful for the way God has used them.

A reflection from Robert Warner this Easter season:

“And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.” – Romans 6:4

The other day, I accidentally cut down a redbud tree while clearing the woods. I didn’t notice its blossoms until it had already fallen. I missed its beauty… and then it was too late.

Isaiah 53:3 says Jesus was “despised and rejected.” We didn’t recognize His beauty either. At the cross, a Roman officer, one who likely helped carry out the crucifixion, looked up and said, “Surely this was the Son of God” (Matthew 27:54). Only then did he begin to see what he had missed, and he was terrified!

But that is not the end of the story. The resurrection changes everything.

Because Jesus rose from the dead, it was not too late for him, and it is not too late for us. He is alive, offering forgiveness and new life to all who turn to Him.

Spring is here at Horton Haven. What once looked lifeless is now alive again. We celebrate the hope of the Resurrction! Jesus is alive, and through Him we are too, new life is possible. It’s not too late.

Know of a church, school or homeschool group where you would be allowed to hand out summer camp brochures? We need ambassadors like YOU to help us spread the word that HHCC is an affordable, premiere summer camp where biblical truths are clearly shared! From summer days to retreat weekends… here’s how camp showed up in 2025.

We’re so grateful for every camper, volunteer, donor, and prayer that carried this year. Next year we are looking forward to more joy, more friendships, more Jesus, and the same faithful God.
