"Teaching"

Ezra 7:6-10----Teacher Ezra knew his subject well and taught by word and example. Like him, parents need to know the Scriptures, to test the skills before they start giving lessons, to live their words, to make a strong effort to give teaching a pop of humor and a pinch of discipline. As a parent, you teach something nearly every waking hour. Listen to student feedback, consult often with fellow parent-teachers; pray a lot. Give those vital lessons your best shot. ✝️

Devotional Moment

"Encouragement"

Ezra 5:1-2----Encouragement builds confidence. We can well imagine how great the leaders and workers in Jerusalem felt when reminded that God was pleased by their efforts. The prophets who spoke words of God to them were like spark plugs to an engine. Hammers pounded faster and truer; chisels etched cleaner sides of stone. Words of encouragement between co-workers, siblings, or from a parent to a child, can energize love for many a day. ✝️

We are here right now, Father, because we do want to walk in your ways. We know the key is staying connected to you because the ways of the world are all around us, always imposing a different set of values and a different worldview. Give us a wise and discerning heart in all things today so we can stay on track. ✝️
