Alum Creek Church

Alum Creek Church Alum Creek Church Our desire is to truly serve the community of which we are a part and for our identity to be synonymous with the work that we do.

We have initiated clothing drives to help provide clothing for those in need, we partner with a homeless ministry (Family Promise) helping to offer the only emergency housing in Delaware County, we have hosted MOMs groups providing a place for local mothers to gather together and socialize, and for several years we have provided Christmas toys to families through People In Need. In 2005, we began

Central Ohio Work Camp, a weeklong service camp that allows for teenagers to paint houses for underprivileged families. Our members have taken disaster relief trips in the past to New Orleans and Cedar Rapids, Iowa to help with flood relief. Each summer we host Vacation Bible School in helping teach our young people the Bible. In 2008, we opened the Alum Creek Preschool, which has grown into one of the leading part-time preschools in Lewis Center. Since our building opened, we have made our building regularly available to outside groups like the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Brownie troops. On any given day, you may see local youth leagues practicing soccer or football on our fields or any number of other activities that happen throughout the year. We seek to embed ourselves in the lives of those who call Lewis Center home. Our mission has been to serve the savior, build the body, and love the lost.

Familiar passages of Scripture can be like familiar pieces of art - they just don't capture our attention like they once did. Today, we look at one of the most familiar texts: The Good Samaritan. We may have been looking at the wrong character all along.

Looking for lepers . . . who are the lepers in our life? Those who make us recoil or we try to avoid? Jesus invites us to see everyone!

As human beings, our identities are tied up to many different subgroups: our families, our neighborhoods, communities - and on and on. The question is not whether we have several identities wrapped up in our own, the question is which is our ultimate identity? Jesus confronts this issue as the Pharisees try to rope him into one of the hot-button topics of the day: should his followers pay taxes?

Today is Good Friday, a day we remember the incredible sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the depth of His love for us. It’s a moment to reflect, give thanks, and prepare our hearts for what’s to come.
But the story doesn’t end here… Sunday is coming! 🌅✨
Join us this Easter Sunday at 10 AM as we celebrate the hope, joy, and victory of the resurrection! It’s a powerful reminder that love wins, grace abounds, and new life is possible for all of us.
We would absolutely love to see you there, bring your friends, bring your family, and come experience this special day together. 💛

Restless. Seems to be the word of the day. How many of us feel caught between - between arguments, feelings, stages of life, and thoughts on faith. Back and forth we go, never feeling quite settled. Here's some thoughts from the Book of Hebrews.

Considering Sunday's forecast, we have decided to go ahead and cancel our 10:00 in-person Sunday worship gathering in Lewis Center. Our minister, Adam Metz, will share a brief devotional at 10:00, but there will be no gathering at the building.

Members, we sent out an invitation to an 11:00 Zoom meeting to conduct our annual business meeting. Please contact us if you did not receive it.

Be safe at home this weekend - and be sure to make a snow angel.

Restlessness has become familiar to us all. So many plates under our very feet seem to be shifting all at once. Uncertainty at work, in the government, in our future. Technology has sped up the pace of life to the point that many feel as though they cannot keep up.

But what if the goal isn't to keep up or overcome the restlessness, but to embrace it?

Our church offers nothing trite, flashy, or cliche. We don't offer simple answers - life is too complex for that. Life is hard, complicated, and uneasy. If the words of this song resonate with you, you may consider joining us as restless wanderers. 10:00 am on Sundays
