Tonight, the last of our 12 step groups are holding their last meetings in our building before moving on to new locations. Our building will close to gym groups, another church, and the scouts as of June 30.
In July and August we will be cleaning out the building, and we expect to close the sale on September 1.
Last worship for us in this building will be August 30, and we will decommission the building and then bless it for the new church coming in. They have 300 families and will make good use of this faithful building with its 23,000 square feet on 2 acres.
As for our congregation, we continue on and will begin worshipping on September 6 at St Francis Episcopal Church in Bellmore. A temporary move (2-3 years we think), and we will be worshipping on Sunday afternoons. Time to rest after 12 years of consolidating two churches and discerning God’s call for the new congregation.
Deep gratitude to the Presbytery Of Long Island for their support and encouragement along the way. And to Pastor Louis L Knowles, who quite adroitly led the two original congregations to the point of legal consolidation. I remain in awe of the work he did before I came in 2020.
We are grateful for all that has come before and curious about all that lies ahead. Pics of the new digs ❤️ and then a picture one of our 12 steppers just sent on the way out ❤️🩹
Much love, Pastor Katie (aka Moe James)
