Please help us keep the promise of a suitable monument strong. This monument will represent many Northeastern tribes who suffered the costs of colonization and erasure. Histories tell us that tribes from all over the Northeast gathered here during the prolific fish runs for millennia, about 12,000 years, Boundaries were fluid. Tribal kinships and travels between the coast and the Valley were commonplace, frequent and recounted in early historical narratives, including those of Weetamoo, Pocasset Wampanoag, a powerful female leader and warrior. Therefore, collectively supporting the building of a prominent Indigenous created structure at the Great Falls will honor and reflect the stories all the area tribes, not just those whose homelands border the Pocumtuck Homelands. https://givebutter.com/indigenous-1676-memorial Enjoy this video taken two weeks ago on May 16 at the deed exchange at the Gill monument site, Thanks to Dave W**d for the film. https://youtu.be/32ndrDye6Q8 And thanks for the beautiful weather that day!
