Nothing can replace time spent in your Bible. ❤️📖

Devotionals can encourage you. Sermons can teach you. Worship music can move you. But none of them can replace opening God’s Word for yourself and spending time with Him.

Make room for His Word today. Read it. Sit with it. Pray over it. Let God speak into the places of your heart that only He knows.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” — Psalm 119:105

Sometimes we don’t have the words. We don’t know what to ask for or even how to pray—but God still hears us. 🤍

đź“– Romans 8:26
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”

Even when you can’t find the words, God knows your heart. 🙏

Sunday Sermon Recap | Nehemiah 1

This morning, Brother Donnie took us into Nehemiah 1 and reminded us that sometimes God has to move us from comfort to concern before He can use us for His purpose.

Nehemiah’s name means “Jehovah comforts,” but Nehemiah didn’t allow his comfort to keep him from carrying a burden. When he heard about the broken walls of Jerusalem, his heart broke. He chose concern over comfort.

Before God builds anything externally, He often begins by working internally. He breaks our hearts for what breaks His. The burden comes before the building.

That leaves us with an important question: What breaks God’s heart that should break ours?

It’s easy to become comfortable being comfortable. But how is God going to use us if we refuse to step outside of our comfort zone? We should be willing to pray:

“Lord, give me a heart like Yours. Whatever breaks Your heart, let it tear mine apart. Show me where You want me, and help me choose concern over comfort.”

Nehemiah reminds us that God can take a burdened heart and use it as the beginning of something much bigger. May we be willing to say, “Here I am, Lord. Use me.”

Choose concern over comfort. ❤️

Faith is taught in the little moments—by showing up, sitting beside someone, opening God’s Word, and reminding the next generation that they are loved and seen. 🤍

May we always be a church where our older kids pour into our younger ones, where friendships cross generations, and where every child has someone encouraging them to know Jesus more.

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers…” — 1 Timothy 4:12 KJV

Planting seeds. Building relationships. Raising up the next generation for Christ.

The warm embrace of a church family. 🤍

It’s more than seeing each other on Sundays—it’s hugs, laughter, encouragement, prayer, and simply doing life together. God never intended for us to walk this life alone, and what a blessing it is to be surrounded by people who love you, pray for you, and point you back to Jesus.

So thankful for the love found within our Lane Baptist Church family. ❤️

A serving heart doesn’t serve for recognition—it serves because it reflects the heart of Jesus. 🤍

It’s heart warming watching these young people use the gifts God has given them to glorify Him. Whether it’s singing, helping, encouraging, or simply being willing to step up when there is a need, a heart that says “Here I am, Lord” is a heart God can use.

“Serve one another humbly in love.” — Galatians 5:13

May we never be too busy, too nervous, or too concerned with ourselves to serve when God gives us the opportunity. Use the gifts He gave you, love His people well, and give Him all the glory. 🙌💙
