The Union Baptist Church family continues to lift up the Oak Hill Community in prayer following the tragic car accident last weekend that took two precious lives. Our hearts are heavy, and we mourn alongside the families, friends, and all those impacted.

In moments like these, it’s hard to understand, and the pain can feel overwhelming. But we are reminded that the God of the valley is still the God of the mountain. He is present in our sorrow just as He is in our joy. He is near to the brokenhearted and faithful to carry us through even the darkest days.

We pray for healing, for comfort, and for peace that surpasses all understanding. May our community come together in love and support, leaning on one another and on the strength that only God can provide.

Please continue to keep these families in prayer 🙏

💜A Call to Pray for Our Community 💜 In the midst of this heartbreaking tragedy, we come together as a church family to lift up our community in prayer.
We ask you to join us in continued prayers for the Lackey family during this incredibly difficult time. Please also remember the brave firemen, emergency medical personnel, state troopers, and deputies who responded and continue to serve with strength and compassion.
Let’s not forget the classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends who are hurting and trying to make sense of it all. And as we pray, we are called to lift up even more—please pray for the young man in jail and his family as they walk through this painful situation as well. In times like these, we lean on God for comfort, peace, and understanding. May we surround one another with love, grace, and unwavering faith.

✝️ From the Cross to the Empty Tomb… This Is What Jesus Has Done ✝️

This week, we pause and remember all that Jesus has walked through… for us.

🌿 Palm Sunday – He entered Jerusalem as King, welcomed with praise… yet the same voices would soon turn against Him.

🍞 Maundy Thursday – He shared the Last Supper with His disciples, washed their feet, and showed us what true love and service look like.

🙏 Gethsemane – In deep anguish, He prayed, “Not my will, but Yours be done,” as He prepared to bear the weight of our sin.

⛓️ Betrayal & Arrest – Betrayed with a kiss, abandoned by many, and taken away in chains.

⚖️ Trial & Mocking – Falsely accused, beaten, mocked, and crowned with thorns.

✝️ Good Friday – He carried the cross, was nailed to it, and gave His life for the sins of the world. Darkness fell… and hope seemed lost.

🕊️ Saturday – Silence. Waiting. The world held its breath.

🌅 Easter Sunday – The grave could not hold Him! Jesus rose in victory over sin and death!

Because He lives…
➡️ There is hope for the broken
➡️ Freedom for the captive
➡️ Forgiveness for the sinner
➡️ Life everlasting for all who believe

Sunday is here… and He is RISEN! 🙌
Come celebrate the victory with us! We would love to have you at Union Baptist Church !

Holy Saturday ✝️

Today is a quiet day… a waiting day.

The cross has done its work.
The tomb is sealed.
Hope may have seemed lost.

But little did they know… Sunday was coming.
Even in the silence, God was still moving. Even in the waiting, the promise was still alive.
If today feels heavy, if you’re in a season of waiting—hold on.
God isn’t finished yet.

Sunday is coming. 🌅
