On January 2, 2005 Christ Church of Lenoir opened its doors. This day was the culmination of many years of faithful and obedient service Pastor Aaron Patterson and his wife Evangelist Geralene Patterson had demonstrated throughout their commitment to God. had a vision to come home and reach his people (the Lenoir community and his family) for Christ. Despite being diagnosed with late stage cancer,
and the challenges they faced their faith and trust in God allowed them accept the assignment and God had equipped them to fulfill. Today, we thank God for, their endurance and perseverance because out of their obedience, Christ Church of Lenoir is now a thriving ministry dedicated to leading men and women to Christ. Unfortunately, Pastor Aaron L. Patterson Sr. died on October 26, 2006. The very next Sunday Missionary Evangelist Geralene T. Patterson assumed the role as Pastor of Christ Church of Lenoir and Elder Aaron L. Patterson Jr. and Missionary Evangelist Theresa M. Patterson came in as Co-Pastor and First Lady. Pastor Geralene Patterson has led the ministry to even higher heights. Under her leadership many people have received Christ as Savior and continue to serve within the ministry. Pastor Patterson is a visionary leader who firmly believes the Word of God. Her anointed teaching empowers members of Christ Church of Lenoir to move forward in Christ and to experience the full gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, Christ Church of Lenoir is made up of a diverse group of individuals who have come together to serve God by making disciples through being disciples. Christ Church of Lenoir still operates under the mantra of our founder Aaron L. when he declared that, “we are called to make things happen”. We are continuing to make things happen through anointed teaching, praise and worship, evangelism, serving each other and the community, strong leadership, and leadership training. Pastor Geralene Patterson teaches us that we all make up the body of Christ. Each one of us is important and therefore has a job to do. We are empowered to take responsibility and work in the Kingdom.
