Please remember this precious family in your prayers.

Mary Frances Calloway
Dec 17, 1946 — Sep 1, 2026
Mary Frances Calloway, a beloved resident of Hudson, North Carolina, was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the age of 79. She passed away at her residence, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be cherished by those she touched.

Mary was born on December 17, 1946, in Caldwell County, NC, to the late William Franklin Calloway and Beatrice Annas Calloway. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who spent her life nurturing her family and bringing joy to all who knew her. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she filled their lives with warmth and an infectious sense of humor.

Mary's life was a testament to love and faith. She found joy in crafting necklaces, cooking savory meals, shopping for treasures, and cherishing time with her church family at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church. Her laughter and vibrant spirit were the bright center of every family gathering.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jackie Junior Calloway; her brothers Roger, Edwin, Fred, and Benny Ray Calloway; and her sisters Shirley Younce, Wanda Barnes, and Tina Bolick.

She leaves behind her cherished children: David Calloway and his partner Kim, Donald Calloway and his wife Sharri, and April Calloway and her partner Terry. She is also survived by her brother William Calloway and his wife Mary; her best friend and sister-in-law, Deanna Smith; her grandchildren Derek Calloway, Michelle Hartzog and her husband Kurt, Jenica Powell, Alex Roten, and Alexis Hayes and her husband Trae; and her adored great-grandchildren Emma-Leigh Calloway, Adyson Hartzog, Noah Hartzog, and Westin Hartzog. Numerous extended family members and friends will also miss her dearly.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Poarch Chapel Missionary Methodist Church on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Pastor Wallace Smith and Speaker Debi Barker will officiate the service, with burial to follow immediately at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends for a visitation from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Mary Frances Calloway will be remembered for her boundless love, vibrant laughter, and enduring faith. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, a beacon of light guiding them through life's journey.
