When following God feels pointless and the wicked seem to prosper without consequence, the final chapter of Malachi speaks directly to that frustration. God confronts Israel for adopting a transactional view of worship, serving Him only for what they could get in return. Yet even in that dark season, a faithful remnant remained. They gathered together, encouraged one another, and God took notice. He heard their conversations, recorded their faithfulness, and promised that a day of justice and renewal is coming.
