ONE DAY MOUNTAIN RETREAT

This Saturday, the St. Frassati Young Adult Ministry will be heading into the Sequoias for a day of faith, fellowship, and adventure.

Our retreat will begin with a hike to Panther Gap for bible study, where we'll take time to encounter God through Scripture, prayer, community, and the beauty of His creation. Followed by a hike and climb to Panther Peak.

We are still catching our breath from over the weekend. Over 100 golfers joined us for our annual Remember the Fallen Memorial Golf Tournament and we cannot thank them enough!! Their contributions, as well as our amazing sponsors, will ensure we continue to fund college scholarships for local military Veteran families!! More pics to come!

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Cristero War in Mexico. As Catholics in Mexico faced increasing persecution and even martyrdom at the hands of the government, the Knights of Columbus launched an international campaign to defend the rights of the Church. Pope Pius XI explicitly recognized the Order’s role in his encyclical Iniquis Afflictisque, published Nov. 18, 1926, in response to the persecution in Mexico: “First of all we mention the Knights of Columbus … made up of active and industrious members who, because of their practical lives and open profession of the Faith, as well as by their zeal in assisting the Church, have brought great honor upon themselves.” The memorial of the Mexican martyrs, observed May 21, includes six Knights of Columbus who were canonized by St. John Paul II in 2000.

Our Council now sponsors a total of FIVE seminarians! Before April 3rd, Council 9402 was only sponsoring two seminarians, Philip Guadagnini (top left) and Eduardo Guzman Leon (bottom left). We just added Julian Jimenez (top right), Paul Puncer (middle right), and Mario Aguilar. These three were actually just approved by the Diocese and will begin their seminarian journey this Fall!
