Lemont schools started this week and so we offered a Back-to-School blessing to our children at worship. Here is the blessing for students everywhere!
Holy God,
Bless each child as they start the new school year.
May they know that you love them.
May they know that you go with them.
May your love give them courage for all that is to come.
Protect them. Nurture them. Guide them.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen!

We had a great time down at the Sunset Soiree on Thursday night! Thank you, Lemont, for your support in our Split-the-Pot Raffle! We loved the music, LiveStream!

We are flying high after our event last night at Tap House! We raised $10,580 to support our mission to "Nurture with Love and Serve with Hope!" Thanks to all those who bought tickets, sold tickets, donated prizes, planned, hosted, and joined us for the event!
We had prizes from Pollyanna Brewing Company, Nick's Tavern, Folklore Coffee, and The Living Room! Shout out to Tap House Grill Lemont for their support!

Looks like we're rained out tonight, but we'll join the fun on the rescheduled date!

After a discussion with our risk, weather, and emergency management partners we will be canceling tonight's Sunset Soiree because of potential for inclement weather during showtime.
A reschedule date will be announced soon, so stay tuned.

School supply sales are starting! We're collecting supplies for local kids so they start the year with all they need in their backpack. Here's a list of items needed. There's a link in the comments that takes you directly to the Amazon Wishlist. We'll be down at the Soiree on Thursday with a table outside of Wok'd. You can drop off school supplies there too.

A song for this Earth Day. On Sunday we'll have a special Earth Day Service, joining the song of creation in praising God, giving thanks for God's gifts of the earth, and remembering our call to care for creation. If you have a house plant, you're welcome to bring it Sunday to help decorate the altar. (And then take it home following worship.)
