We enjoyed a wonderful study through the book of Philemon today. Philemon is short in length but it is packed with important content. Paul appeals to Philemon more as a friend and less as an apostle.

Paul stood by a guilty man (a runaway slave named Onesimus) and said, 'I know he's a criminal and that he deserves punishment, yet this slave is my friend. I stand beside him to take his punishment on myself.'

That's exactly what Jesus does for us before our Master, God the Father. Jesus has not, does not and will not condemn you. He didn't come to condemn the world; He came to save it (John 3:17). As Paul interceded for Onesimus, Jesus intercedes for you and me.

All of our sins are charged to Jesus. All of our guilt is charged to Him. God laid on Him the iniquities of us all. Jesus paid it all; all to Him we owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow. May God bless you as you study His Word!

We enjoyed a wonderful morning of worship today! Our journey through the Bible brought us to 1 Timothy 2. There are some challenging passages in that chapter, to be sure.

There is, however, one verse within the chapter that stands out. 1 Timothy 2:5 says, "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus."

Because He is fully God and fully Man, Jesus can bridge the gap between our infinite Creator and all-too-finite human beings. He is the only One who can bridge that gap. We must not seek any other to intercede for us with the Father.

May God bless you as you continue to study His Word. He is our peace. He is coming soon! Maranatha--come quickly, Lord Jesus.
