Thanks to whoever brought the baskets of flowers. They are very pretty and add a much needed pop of color. They were a nice surprise when I left for the doctor this morning!

Also we plan on making them again for the Christmas Holidays and before next Easter. If you find peanut butter, powdered sugar or milk chocolate chips that you would like to donate toward those times, we will be happy to accept them.

Just an FYI- all of the Scout Snacks (buckeyes) have been made to fulfill the preorders and we have some left. They are being sold at Pastoral Ministries on a first come, first served basis. They are still 4 snacks for $1.00.

Ok you guys, here is my current situation. First of all, you all have blown me away again. I let you know that that Pack 225 and Troop 225 were intending on making and selling Scout Snacks (also known as Buckeyes) to help pay their way to Summer Camp and Day Camp and we have been blown away with the amount that have been ordered. We had not anticipated this type of response. Almost to the point of me saying, please do not order anymore as we do not have a whole lot of time left to make them all before school is out. If you would still like to support them, please feel free to make a monetary donation, any size is greatly appreciated or donation of ingredients. We are using peanut butter, powdered sugar and milk chocolate chips. Thank you so much for your consideration. Thank you for supporting our children as we do our best to help them gain leadership skills through activities that they truly enjoy. Anything that you wish to donate can be dropped off at Pastoral Ministries whenever we are open. I was reluctant to put this out there but I was encouraged to do so by a customer who is now watching for this message. lol. If donating at this time is not for you, we would covet your prayers. Thank you!

The Scouts of Pack and Troop 225 are going to be starting their fundraising efforts very soon. The funds raised help the Scouts go to Summer Camp and to Day Camp where they can have experiences that are just not possible anywhere else. This year they will not only be selling the items, they will also be making them. They are going to be making and selling what they have named Scout Snacks (the rest of the world calls them Buckeyes, but ours are completely covered in chocolate). They will be 4 in each package and the package will sell for $1.00. They will be available from the scouts or at Pastoral Ministries. You can also preorder by commenting on this post or calling 419-943-2549. Thank you in advance for supporting their efforts. It is our hope that through this effort that skills like planning, responsibility and the satisfaction of a job well done will be experienced by all of the scouts. They will be available starting next Monday. Thank you for your support. Also feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Thank you to Master Gardener Donna Galloway and her Master Gardener colleague who came to Pastoral Ministries today and said we are going to work on your landscaping, ok? Of course I said yes and they made such a beautiful difference, working until the rain appeared. Thank you very much!

Just in case you forgot where you saw it!

Since we are ever closer to school starting I just thought I would put this out there again. The Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will be having a pizza and ice cream open house on Aug 25th from 6-7:30 for all interested kids and their parents. Just drop in and check us out! There is more information below.

Parents, as we start considering the fact that school is going to start again, I would like to address an opportunity for your child(ren). Here in Leipsic we have a Cub Scout Pack for boys and girls in K - 5th grade and a Troop for boys 6th grade thru age 18. Scouting gives your children a chance to not only learn new skills but also develop leadership skills, try new things and grow their self confidence. We will cover half of the membership costs and furnish everything else needed including the uniform. All of our Cubs meet on Monday evening from after school until 4:45 and the Boy Scouts meet from 6-7:30 pm also on Monday nights. Just a warning, I love to talk about Scouting, but I promise to try to contain myself……lol

All registrations are done on line at beascout.org and register. It can be a bit confusing but you can either fill it out yourself, and then I will reimburse you for half of the cost or you can stop up to Pastoral Ministries whenever you are free and I will walk thru the process with you. I can also pay for it, then you can pay me back half of the fees.

Update: Remember you can get your pumpkins painted by dropping them off at Pastoral Ministries.

As you plan your fall decorations I wanted you to know that I have a lady who paints pumpkins and then sprays them with a preservative. You bring me your pumpkin, let me know which painting you would like and any customizations and then pick it up at Pastoral Ministries when it is finished. The pumpkins can not be more than 10 pounds as they will have to be lifted several times by women. They will cost $8.50 plus tax per pumpkin. Obviously there will be a limit to the number of orders we can fill so please let me know as soon as possible.
