-Pastor Thompson preached on the topic “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” Pt.1 from John 15:12-15
Major points included:
*As the Body of Christ, we should not hold the perspective of “I Love You But Don’t Like You” toward one another.
*Jesus shifted the dynamic of His relationship with the Disciples from that of just them being His servants, to them being His friends.
-The church flourishes when we are more than just fellow members to one another, but are friends to one another!

-Our Mass Choir blessed us singing “I Came To Tell You” and “God’s Grace!”

-In Children’s Church our young people learned the importance of Jesus knowing their name and who they are!

Our Mass Choir blessed us by lifting songs of praise, and our Associate Minister Bonnie Lee Burgess, Jr. also blessed us with an encouraging Word from Psalm 121 entitled “Just Look Up!” Sundays at the BCMBC are always special! Join us next week for our Communion Sunday.

-Pastor Thompson preached on the topic “The Importance Of Mentorship(A Class Called Life)” Pt.3 from 1 Timothy 4:7-12
Major points included:
*As the church, we will never be able to truly touch and impact this present generation if all we do is hang around and delve in surface level talks.
*Some folk have Ph.D’s in lying and know just what to say and how to say it to lure you away from God!
*You cannot allow the negative voices of other people lead you to waste the gift and anointing God has placed on your life!

-Our Youth Choir blessed us singing “If You’re Happy” and “Bless Me”.

-Bro. Marlon Lovelace became a member/covenant partner with our church family! We are glad to welcome him with love and open arms, and look forward to having him alongside as we grow in Christ together!

What a wonderful day of celebration as we honored 9 years of pastoral service and 20 years of preaching ministry by Pastor Thompson! Thanks to Pastor Byron Jackson who blessed us at our 9am service, Pastor Demetres Towns & the Bethel Lauderdale M.B. Church who blessed us at our 1pm service, our BCMBC Culinary Ministry, the pastoral anniversary committee, and all of our BCMBC members who contributed to this special day! Congrats Pastor Thompson and First Lady Thompson on 9 years, and we look forward to many more!

Join us tomorrow as we celebrate the 9th Pastoral Anniversary along with the 20th Preaching Anniversary of Pastor Wesley Thompson! Pastor Byron Jackson of the 15th Avenue Baptist Church in Nashville will be our 9AM guest speaker. Pastor Demetres Towns and the Bethel Lauderdale Missionary Baptist Church will be our guests for our 1PM afternoon service. Food will be served in between services at 12noon. We hope to see you!
