Search Me O God and Lead me to YOU!

One of my favorite verses on this topic is from Psalm 139. Here we see David, a shepherd, a warrior, a king, a sinner, even a fugitive at times calling on the God who knew his heart in all of these seasons.

He recognizes that God knows him deeply and intimately like no one else. He knows his thoughts, his motives, his words...God knows his mannerisms, his actions, and his fears.

What I respect the most is David's willingness and desire for God to search his heart and reveal to him WHAT GOD ALREADY KNOWS.

So many times, we cling to our sin as if not confessing it will keep God in the blind, but the reality that David knew, and we must learn, is that the unrepented practice of sin doesn't hinder the Lord, but rather it cripples us, our peace, and our joy to live out what He has for us.

Psalms 139:23-24 David says, Search me O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me and lead me in the way of everlasting!

In other words, Lord, I feel like I am following you in obedience, but God if there is anything in me that is still holding me back from being what you need and desire me to be, please reveal it and guide me out of it!

When is the last time we approached the throne of Heaven and asked Jesus to reveal this to us?

God knows every hair on your head, every thought in your mind, every mistake you have made, will make, or even thought about making. Who better to search our hearts and reveal our flaws?

May today be the day we begin this as a normal part of our walk with the Lord.

Join us this Sunday at 0930 or 1100 as we continue to study and challenge one another in our obedience to Christ! We will begin a new study this week beginning in the book of Jonah! Don't miss it!

The Honeymoon Should Never End!

This video message hits a little harder for me today since today marks 21 years since my wife Kayla and I (Pastor Trae) were married. We, like many other families have had our rollercoaster moments of drawing near and drifting apart, drawing near and drifting apart...

As a marriage and family counselor I often see marriages struggling to hold on and cling to a relationship that has lost its intimacy. It has lost its fire and desire.

But I have to ask, how many of our marriages are a direct reflection of our relationship with Christ?

How many of us have allowed distractions (jobs, hobbies, or even family) to abandon the love that we once had?

Revelation 2:4 Jesus said to the Church of Ephesus, "I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.

You see when we allow the gap to start opening up between our heart and Jesus, it will by default start opening the gap between us and other Christ honoring relationships.

Good news: The antidote is simple.
1) Remember
2) Repent
3) Do the work you did at first

Have you abandoned the love you once had for Jesus? Is it reflecting in your home?

Join us tonight at 6:00 for men, women, and family studies or Sunday at 0930 or 1100. Come and reset, reengage, and rejuvenate the love you had at first.

I'll save you a seat!

Unconditional Forgiveness doesn't have to end with Jesus!

1 John 1:9 tells us that "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us of those sins AND cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

We have this not only as a gift through our salvation but also as AN EXAMPLE!

Why is it that we have the confidence and the desire to repent whenever we do anything wrong with the Lord but not with others?

I've come to the conclusion that it's because we know forgiveness from the Lord is there and we know it doesn't come with extra baggage that we have to deal with other than just His grace being sufficient.

But what if we approached every relationship in our lives, especially in our homes, In this same way?

Jesus forgives from a place of love. What if we did too!?!?!

What if forgiveness didn't come at a price for others to receive it from us?

What if we didn't charge more for the forgiveness than the consequence of the sin itself?

Jesus demonstrates and commands forgiveness.

I challenge you today to reflect on how well you are forgiving. How well are you reciprocating the forgiveness you have experienced from the Lord?

Join us this Wednesday at 6:00 or Sunday at 0930 or 1100 as we continue to challenge one another in walking out our faith in obedience to God's Word!

I'll save you a seat!

We are SAVED sinners!

Romans 12:9 tells us to let love be genuine and abhor what is evil (Hate sin); hold fast to what is good.

We all sin and we all fall short, but that certainly doesn't mean that we need to stay in it!

Praise be to God that we have a Savior in Jesus Christ!

Join us this Wednesday at 6:00 for men, women, and family worship or Sunday at 0930 or 1100 as we continue to study the Word and challenge one another to grow in Christ!

Is Your Desire to be in the Word a Habit or a Hunger?

What does it truly mean to "abide?"

To “abide” is to live, continue, or remain; so, to abide in Christ is to live in Him or remain in Him.

Meaning, any separation at all is to break the cycle. Obviously, we cannot literally read the Word or pray 24/7 but through abiding we maintain a constant presence in living out His word through our daily life.

It is impossible to maintain obedience to Christ in all areas of our life unless we are in a constant state of abiding.

1 john 3:24 "Whoever keeps His commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us."

Apart from Him, we can do nothing! (John15:5) So, stay close. Prioritize your time with Him, in Word, prayer, and action! And watch how Christ, through His Spirit, will transform your LIFE!

Join us this Sunday at 0930 or 1100! Bring a friend and let's worship King Jesus together!

Fruit and Multiplication is an Evidence of YOUR Salvation

One of the greatest movements recorded in scripture for the Church is in the book of Acts. When I read chapter 2 specifically, I get compelled to serve more and more. To love, more and more, to forgive, more and more, and to think about myself less and less...why?

Because it is FRUITFUL! and...it DEFIES the way of the world.

We see the evidence of the Lord moving in Acts through hearts being transformed. The people were looking for ways to serve one another instead of themselves, and through this, we read about Multiplication of the body of believers (thousands).

Here at East, we have the privilege and great joy of seeing Fruit of the Holy Spirit from within those in the body doing just this! Helping others, praying for one another, bringing people to Church and to their homes, and through that, we have the privilege of seeing a measure of Acts 2.

But what if we all did this?

Join us tonight at 6:00 for men, women, and family worship. Bring a friend...bring 100 friends. Let's fill this place with glad and generous hearts praising God and watch what happens! Can't make it tonight? Come join us at 0930 or 1100 Sunday!

I'll save you a seat!

What do YOU bring to the FIGHT?!?!

Did you know that you are a part of God's redemptive plan for humanity? It is true!

Ephesians 2:10 says, "for we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

God created you ON PURPOSE for A PURPOSE. He has given you resources, ministries, and life for just this purpose!

There is an entire world out there that is losing the fight and desperately needing to experience the Love of Jesus that will move in and through them all the way to their salvation!

But, what is great about this for you and me is that God has aligned it to where we can be a part of what HE IS DOING if only we would bring our blessings to the fight for their souls!

Jesus demonstrated His love for us all the way to the cross. So, my question for you is, how do you demonstrate this love through what He has given you to reach those that you have been purposefully designed to reach?

Join us this Wednesday at 6:00 for men, women and family worship or Sunday at 0930 or 1100 as we continue to dig into the Word and challenge one another to go ALL IN for JESUS!

I'll save you a seat!

How Important is the Study of God's Word to YOU?

I am not asking you how often you listen to a podcast
I am not asking you how often you attend a Bible study
I am not asking how often you listen to one of your Pastor's preach

But how important is YOUR time alone in God's Word?

Podcasts are good, Bible studies are good, attending Church is good, but to be in a relationship with the God who has Saved YOU, we cannot neglect the time alone meditating and growing in the study of His Word!

Do you desire to hear from the Lord? Then read His Word.

To neglect time in the Word of your Lord and Savior should concern you a bit.

Don't neglect it...but rather prioritize it. It will change your whole life!

Join us this Wednesday at 6:00 for men's, women's and family worship or Sunday at 0930 or 1100 as we continue to study God's Word and challenge one another in our obedience to it.

I'll save you a seat!
