Saudi Religious Police Calls Jewish Child a Jewish Ape on Twitter:
Al-Hisbah channel which appear to be the official Twitter account of the Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (Saudi Arabia), which is according to Wikipedia "is the Saudi Arabian government agency employing “religious police” ... to enforce Sharia Law within that Islamic nation." published the following disgusting Tweet with a picture of a Jewish child carrying a gun:
"If this Jewish ape was a Palestinian child, what you expect the reaction will be? Was the corrupt media going to be silent or make out of him a terrorist on all the newspapers and channels."
WOW, a Jewish child in the eyes of the Saudi religious police is an "ape"? They totally dehumanized him vis-a-vis a Palestinian child?
I understand they are talking about the gun the Jewish child is carrying and if this was a Palestinian child, then the media will talk about him as a terorist. I also understand that this picture of the Jewish child with the gun could be taken out of context. What I am disturbed with is the dehumnaztion of the "other" which even extend to the children of the "other".
The Saudi religious police could won sympathy and approval of a lot of non-Muslims if they changed one word in this tweet, but their religious intolerance and hate to the Jews is hurting their case. What about if the tweet just changed one word and it was like this:
"If this Jewish [child] was a Palestinian child, what you expect the reaction will be? Was the corrupt media going to be silent or make out of him a terrorist on all the newspapers and channels."
Are you disgusted by this tweet like me? Do you abhor and reject this intolerance and dehumanization from this Saudi religious police?
If so, I want you to search in your own heart, what if this picture was of a Muslim child carrying a gun instead of a Jewish child? Were you going to automatically dehumanize him and all Muslims? Were you going to tweet something like:
"If this [Muslim terrorist child] was a [Jewish] child, what you expect the reaction will be? Was the corrupt media going to be silent or make out of him a [victim] on all the newspapers and channels."
Most of us (including me) are biased and have our own intolerance, but we tolerate the intolerance of the group we belong to and never tolerate the intolerance of the "other".
Pray for the Saudis, their religious police, the Palestinians, the Muslims, Israel, the Jews and all for us, that we come to see humans through the eyes of God with no bias of ethnicity, gender, race, age, color, social status or religion.
