A Season of Celebration🍂

As we officially bid farewell to the fall season (is it still fall if it has snowed already?? ❄❄) we wanted to take a moment to look back at the season we shared together. From the Bishop's visit, to Shrine Mont, to our beloved Oktoberfest, the last few months together as a family of faith have been beautiful, meaningful, and memorable. 💜

This fall, we also embarked on our 2026 Stewardship campaign, "One Body, Many Gifts: Joined in God's Grace." As we've moved through stewardship season together, we have reflected on how our gifts of time, talent, and treasure make all of the wonderful programs and ministries featured here possible. THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed to our campaign so far this year — we are almost to our $1.1 million pledge goal for the 2026 Operating Budget! Even in the snow and ice, worship is happening on this Third Sunday of Advent at 8am, 9am, and 10am. However, our Adult Forum at 9am is canceled. Please travel safely this morning.
Also, the flowers are ready and waiting for this evening’s Feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe service with St. Gabriel’s at 5:00pm.

St. James' 2025 Alternative Gift Fair

We are deeply grateful to the shoppers, organizations, and volunteers who made this year's Alternative Gift Fair a great success. Local non-profits were present to share their mission and allow shoppers to make donations in honor of their loved ones, leaving a lasting impact on our community this Christmas season.

All told, over $8,000 in contributions were received to benefit these organizations and the wider Leesburg/Loudoun community.

It is a joy and honor for us to share with you that The Very Rev. Daniel Vélez-Rivera, Vicar of our sister parish, St Gabriel's - San Gabriel Episcopal Church, was named 2025 Changemaker of the Year by the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties.

We rejoice with Fr. Daniel, and are grateful to partner with him and St. Gabriel's in ministry to our greater community.

An Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Virginia since 2012, Vélez-Rivera is known for his justice-focused ministry and commitment to strengthening community connections. A cornerstone program is Educating with Love, a free after-school and summer program providing STEAM education and youth development that serves more than 500 K–8 students and their families each year. The program is transitioning into its own nonprofit under the leadership of Vélez-Rivera and director Eva María Torres Herrera."

"Why I Give..."

Stacy Harrison has been a member of St. James' since 1995. She shared with us why giving of her treasure is important to her and her family.

"As Parish Historian and a member of the Historic Cemetery Committee, we pledge because we feel the history of our spaces is very important. We are very fortunate to have these spaces. It is because of those who came before us that we do. With our pledge, we honor the vision and the joy that they passed down to us. By being good stewards of these gifts, we can preserve this space so that generations to come will also have this beautiful place to worship."
