When Jesus came down in the flesh to live as a man, to die, and to give Himself up as a sacrifice for mankind, He completely and forever established our authority over the natural world—which means we also have authority over the devil and all his works (1 John 3:8).

We don’t need to ask God to get rid of the devil for us. We need to enforce our authority as believers by using the name of Jesus to get rid of the devil and all his works. Anything that might be trying to steal our blessings or buck our blood-bought authority isn’t half as powerful as Jesus.

Remember that the devil is a thief who comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy—but again, Jesus came to give us life and life in abundance ( John 10:10). If we want abundance in life, we can expect the devil to sometimes try to hinder. Who cares? We have the name of Jesus. This is not la-la land where we should be surprised when the devil attacks believers; it’s earth, and the devil is just a rogue angel, fallen and destitute of all spiritual authority.
