Happy Labor Day, everyone! ☀️🍔 We hope you are taking some well-deserved time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with family and friends. Praying that everyone stays safe and healthy through the holiday festivities! 🙏❤️

As we transition into the new week, we are stepping straight into the book of Jeremiah with The Bible Recap! 📖

Jeremiah is known as the "weeping prophet," and his message can feel daunting at first glance. But if you look closely at his story, it holds one of the most stunning pictures of God’s persistent grace. God doesn't give up on His people, even when they wander far. Instead, He promises a future day when He will write His law directly onto our hearts. There are so many beautiful illustrations all throughout this book, and we encourage you to be on the look-out for them!

Today we are jumping into the book of Zephaniah with The Bible Recap! 📖 While a lot of this book tackles the sobering reality of God’s justice, the ending gives us one of the most breathtaking promises in all of Scripture: a picture of the LORD rejoicing over His restored people with shouting and singing. 🎶✨ He doesn't just tolerate us; He delights in us!

Wow. What a powerful week of reading. We wrapped up the beautiful, hope-filled prophecies of Isaiah, saw a stark reminder of judgment in Nahum, and looked at the kingships of Hezekiah and the reformer King Josiah.

If this week taught us anything, it’s that God doesn't run away from our messiness—He draws near to fix it. Even when Israel broke their covenant over and over, God’s response was: "My steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed" (Isaiah 54:10).

✨ Day 211-213 (Isaiah): Realizing that our God doesn't just tolerate us; He actively invites us to "come to the waters" and drink without cost. He trades our past shame for His everlasting compassion.

✨ Day 214-215 (Hezekiah & Manasseh): A fresh perspective on how God answers prayer and uses even the most broken stories.

✨ Day 216-217 (Nahum & King Josiah): Watching King Josiah literally "clean house" when the Book of the Law was rediscovered in the temple. It makes you ask: 🧐 What do I need to clean out of my own heart to make room for God’s Word?

He sees us, He knows us, and He loves us anyway. Here's a God Shot this week: He is the ultimate promise-keeper. Even when we are unfaithful, His unconditional covenant is sealed and secure through Christ.

We are starting Nahum today with The Bible Recap! 📖 At first glance, a book entirely about the downfall of Nineveh can feel heavy. But as Tara-Leigh always reminds us, we are looking for where God is in the text.

Nahum actually means "comfort." 🕊 It’s a powerful reminder that God’s justice against oppression is a form of comfort to those who have been hurting.

Highly recommend watching this overview by The Bible Project before you jump into today's reading. It maps out the structure beautifully and helps you see the bigger picture of God's character.

We just wrapped up another meaningful week of diving into Scripture together! It is amazing how looking back at these passages can hold up such a clear mirror to our own hearts today.

As we finished our reading this week, we are reminded of the beautiful words in Isaiah 53. Scripture tells us so clearly: "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all."

It is so easy to read about the people of Israel and wonder why they struggled to stay on the path. But if we are honest, we do the exact same thing in our modern lives. We look for shortcuts, worry about the future, and try to handle things in our own strength. Even when we don't mean to, we fall right back into that habit of turning to our "own way."

Thankfully, we have a patient, loving Shepherd who bought us at a price and never stops calling us back to safety. Let’s take a moment to slow down, pause, and look inward today.

Starting the second half of the book of Isaiah today (chapters 40–66)! 📖✨

While the first half focused heavily on confrontation and judgment, this next section shifts beautifully into a message of comfort, future hope, and restoration. We are so excited to dive into the famous passages about the Suffering Servant, the coming Messiah, and the creation of a new Jerusalem.

Wrapping up Days 197–203 in The Bible Recap! 📖✨

This week, we dove deep into Isaiah and Hosea, reading intense prophetic warnings to Israel, Judah, and the surrounding nations. A major theme kept standing out: how easily pride, worldly alliances, and cultural idols creep in and distract God's people from pure devotion. It is such a stark reminder of how quickly our own hearts can wander when we look to the world for security instead of God.

It really makes you step back and think:
