Batter Up!
A church group outing is planned. All are invited! We will be going to Family&Faith Night to see and support the Leesburg Lightning baseball team play the Winter Garden Squeeze baseball team at Pat Thomas Field in Leesburg on Dixie Avenue. The Leesburg Lightning is a wood bat Florida Collegiate Summer League member, one of 6 other teams in Florida since 2003. They have a 45-game season. It’s known for its competitive play and strong community engagement that is family friendly. The group outing is planned for Friday, June 19, 2026 at 7 p.m. Our church will lead off the event on the field with the singing of the national anthem and a prayer by Pastor Leek (Susan Sapp is seeking volunteers to sing and lead). We also have an opportunity to share our church happenings, flyers, and business cards with the other attendees at the gate prior to the start of the game. We can wear our church tee shirts. You can bring seat cushions, folding chairs, or folding seats with backs. We can all sit together. It is a WIN – WIN! Admission is free, but the “hat” is usually passed at the game if you care to give a love offering for the event. Susan hears that the concession food is pretty yummy. A count is helpful so a section of the stadium can be roped off for us. It should be fun. Help spread the word.
