From today’s sermon: “What do you say to someone who’s suffering? What do you say when words fail? Job’s friends’ misguided efforts to comfort Job not only added to Job’s suffering but bore a false witness to God’s character. No human mind can comprehend the mysteries of God’s ways. But to dwell with someone in their pain, even in silence, testifies to the most important truth of all: God’s presence in our suffering.”
