From today’s sermon: “In the depths of his despair, Job makes one of the most beautiful confessions of faith in all of Scripture: ‘I know that my redeemer lives!’ How can it be that someone can suffer and feel abandoned by God, and still confess faith? Job’s friends’ misguided efforts to comfort Job not only added to Job’s suffering but bore a false witness to God’s character. No human mind can comprehend the mysteries of God’s ways.
