Last night we moved on to soccer skills in our Kick, Catch, Score Sports club.
We are lucky to have a soccer coach on our team of helpers! Coach Cass lead the activity part outside by showing how to dribble the soccer balls around cones. After practicing a few times they did a relay to see if boys or girls were faster and able to have control. The boys just barely beat the girls! Then they moved on to a game of fish and minnows. They had to dribble the ball from one set of cones to the other side without the fish kicking the ball away from them. They ended this part of the night by learning to shoot the ball into the net. They started with the ball and kicked it to coach Cass and she kicked it towards the net and they had to shoot it in.
After that they had snack with Ms Sheila and it was crackers in the shapes of sports balls with spray cheese.
Finishing out the night with our Bible story from Luke 5 - we learned how Jesus created his “team” of disciples. We learned how the fishermen became Fishers of Men and joined Jesus team of disciples. We talked about how being on a team for sports is fun but how being on Jesus team is the best 🙂
