What kind of friends do you have?
Perhaps you've experienced a time when you thought you had friends, only to discover that when life became difficult, they were nowhere to be found. Few things are more painful than realizing you only have "fair-weather" friends. It can leave you feeling alone when you need support the most.
While none of us want to find ourselves in that situation, an even more important question is: What kind of friend am I? Am I committed to my friends no matter what they are facing, or am I only around when life is comfortable and convenient?
This Sunday morning at Maple Hill, we will look at a group of friends who were deeply committed to someone in need. They did not abandon their friend because of his disability. Instead, they showed remarkable determination and perseverance in bringing him to Jesus. As we study their example, we will consider whether we are that kind of friend—someone who will do whatever it takes to help others come into the presence of Jesus.
