Community Hope for Healing--Masks for Willamette Manor!
Dear Lebanon Community,
As we are learning to live with Covid-19, many members of our community have had needs for extra personal protective equipment.
We have been given a gift of $1,000 from the Presbytery Leadership Commission partnering with the New Ministries Team. “The idea is not just to provide relief, but to use the money to enhance your capacity to serve the community.”
Our Mission Committee has decided to use this gift for supporting some of our most vulnerable citizens, and Lebanon's small businesses.
Willamette Manor Assisted Living is the only non-corporate, stand alone, 501(c)3, not-for-profit assisted living facility in Lebanon. The Willamette Manor did not anticipate needing to budget for so many masks, leaving their employees and residents srambling to find adequate protection and therefore more vulnerable to Covid-19. These folks, as you know, are at a very high risk for life threatening results if they get this disease.
The Lebanon Chamber of Commerce has purchased 5,000 masks on faith without the resources to pay for them. It is our understanding the masks have been delivered and are now in use.
We would like to supply 4,000 masks for the employees and residents of the Willamette Manor. This will cost about $3,000.
In addition 1,000 masks have been set aside for the small business owners of our community. Purchasing these would help them stay protected as they reopen for business.
Our prayer is to reimburse the Chamber of Commerce for all the masks for the Willamette Manor, and hopefully for the remaining masks being given to local small businesses, saving those owners that expense.
The mission committee is using the $1,000 we were gifted as a seed of faith for this project. It is our vision to see this seed grow and bloom in our community. To accomplish this task we need help. We are sending letters to churches in the area as well as extending the offer to the community at large.
Donations to this mission project can be mailed to: First Presbyterian Church of Lebanon 145 W Ash St. Lebanon, Oregon 97355. Please indicate the funds are for the Community ‘”Hope for Healing “project. As of today a total of $1,350 has been collected. This will be mailed to the Willamette Manor within the week.
We need to plant this seed and watch it grow. Can you see it sprouting? Growing tall?
Can you help us plant community hope for healing?
Matthew 17:20 .."if you have faith as a mustard seed you will say to the mountain, 'Move from here to there', and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.
